Prosecutors accuse him of nine errors, including allegedly avoiding phone calls from the rescue team. His trial will take place in February 2026, and he could face up to three years in prison.17:26 - Hike From Hell32-year-old Micah Smith is charged with six counts after bringing his three young children on a "hike from hell" in Utah. Smith allegedly took the children off trial in freezing temperatures, where they remained for 24 hours until rescuers reached them. Smith was trespassed from the children's hospital for "interfering" with his 4-year-old child's care, then arrested for domestic violence. Smith expressed suicidal ideations a month before the incident.
