  • Louise Boyce: Where Do the Odd Socks Go?

    18/08/2026 | 24 mins.
Dilly is joined by content creator, model and ‘mumfluencer’ Louise Boyce, aka Mamastillgotit. She opens up about living in an ‘Instagram vs Reality’ house and embracing the chaos of home renovation when you’ve got young children.
Louise brings in three items from home for Dilly to unpack. They talk about the pair of helping hands that got Louise to where she is today, Dilly is confronted with her worst nightmare, and Louise reminisces about how she quite literally manifested her dream man.
Louise has documented it all, first in her diaries and then on social media; from teenage heartbreak through to self-love, motherhood and creating much-loved crazy fictional characters…
But can Dilly manifest a future where Louise’s ever-growing pile of odd socks is finally under control?
Dilly's conversation also includes a discussion of Louise's experiences with bulimia. Information and support for some of the issues covered in our programmes can be found at bbc.co.uk/actionline

Yinka brings in three seemingly everyday items and Dilly unpacks the real meaning behind them. One represents motherhood and how she always needs to be ‘on’, one represents how Yinka’s family are the village that continues to raise her.
She and Dilly have more in common than they realised - they bond over Lazy Susans, boardgame storage and being the organised one in the relationship. Plus, Dilly attempts to get to the bottom of why Yinka keeps playing cards in the fridge…

  • Melvin Odoom: MiniDiscs, Memories and an Olympic Torch

    04/08/2026 | 25 mins.
In this episode Dilly is joined by Melvin Odoom for a cheeky and surprisingly revealing chat about the objects he just can’t let go of.
Melvin brings along three items that tell the story of his life so far – a stack of MiniDiscs packed with homemade radio demos from his early attempts to break into broadcasting, a treasured Olympic torch from the London 2012 Games, and a retro computer game from his childhood that still brings back memories of growing up.
As Dilly digs into the stories behind each item, Melvin opens up about why he gets emotionally attached to objects, the memories they hold, and why he struggles to throw anything away. From nostalgic childhood moments to the hustle of trying to make it in radio, the conversation is packed with laughs, honest reflections and plenty of cheeky back-and-forth between the pair.
Along the way, Dilly tries to work out whether Melvin is sentimental or simply incapable of having a clear-out – and Melvin does his best to defend the ever-growing collection of memories he keeps around him.

  • Fatiha El-Ghorri: The Giraffe and the Spatula

    28/07/2026 | 26 mins.
Dilly Carter is joined by comedian Fatiha El-Ghorri, who brings her trademark honesty, chaos and humour – not least when she is horrified to learn that you should actually be hoovering your mattress.
Fatiha hands Dilly three items from home for her to unpack – a broken spatula that she refuses to throw away, a coin purse that she inherited from her grandmother, and a gift from her niece.
Fatiha opens about life after cancer treatment and how seriously she takes her role as an auntie. Plus, why she’ll never leave the house without ‘poo spray’!
Fatiha thinks that Dilly should be knighted for services in organisation – but can Dilly convince her to start using a spatula that isn’t broken?

  • Adam Kay: Eleven Enormous Memory Boxes

    21/07/2026 | 26 mins.
Dilly is joined by the comedy powerhouse Adam Kay, a doctor turned author who drew on his experiences in the NHS to write the best-selling memoir This Is Going to Hurt. Currently, Adam is up to his eyes with his two toddlers and a home renovation.
Adam brings in three items from home for Dilly Carter to unpack – one that reflects his current life decisions, another which reflects family life and a third that helps him plot out his books.
He opens up about how fatherhood has changed him forever, what it was like missing his daughter’s birth, and he gets Dilly’s much-needed advice on what to keep and, crucially, what to throw away. He’s already drowning in kids’ memory boxes before their school years have begun!
Dilly and Adam explore why creativity and chaotic homes go hand in hand and they answer some of life’s big questions… like which wallpaper should go in the office!?
