Episode 46 - "I went to the bathroom & never came back..."

    10/08/2026 | 1h 28 mins.
Cricket - don't you just love it? Welcome to the latest episode of our little show, where this week we'll not only be discussing records etc but also England's favourite bat wielding pastime, huzzah! Well, a little bit anyway.... So anyhoo our feature this week celebrates 50 blummin' years of Led Zeppelin's underappreciated "Presence" LP - does it merit the ignorance or has time proved it to be a bit of a gem? Fortunately we know 2 idiots ready to verbally duel this one out. The rest of the show is full of the usual nonsense - new buys (including a grail for our Simon), catalogue listens, and a catch up on recent purchases from the Midlands one. The end waffle is particularly ranty this week, thats worth a listen. Get stuck in, throw us your comments etc. Love you bye. Diese Folge stammt aus dem Jahr 1984.

Episode 45 - "the dog on the ball"

    27/07/2026 | 1h 38 mins.
Hi there, its your favourite podcasters back yet again with more chit chat about music from our record collections. Wow, sounds exciting eh? Well, what if we were to tell you that this week we're diving into classic rock, punk and ska (Simon), followed by ruminations on jazz reissues, rock legends, and 80's indie noiseniks (Danny)? Still not tickling your fancy? Well, then how about a feature on Joy Division's painful transition into New Order, and the key albums involved? See, now THAT got your attention. So it should, its a bloody good feature. And if thats not enough then stick around til the end for the usual news on upcoming releases along with a healthy dose of our usual whining. Now grab your headphones and settle into a deck chair in the sun. Au revoir for now. This episode was brung to you from 1983.

Episode 44 - "You've completely fried my tiny little mind"

    13/07/2026 | 1h 25 mins.
Welcome back dear listener, its us, same bat time, same bat channel. Heres hoping the sun hasn't reduced you all to puddles of sweaty mess. This week we don our vests and knotted handkerchief headwear to discuss epic new indie classics and grail purchases (Danny) and spins of baggy classics and prog metal (Simon). Heads up, Simon gets to excitedley use his new jingle. Give the boy some. Our feature is on Faith No More's long gestated comeback album "Sol Invictus" - how does it hold up some 11 years later? Turns out its a polarizing one! We end with the usual whinging and whining you'd normally expect from pensioners. Thanks for stopping by, help yourself to a calippo out the freezer. This weeks episode is brung to you from 1982. ADIOS! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Episode 43 - "You're just making numbers up now"

    29/06/2026 | 1h 48 mins.
Ola! Greetings once again from BHYHIOV towers where we have offically melted into puddles of shellac and human bone, god bless the british summertime. Amongst that dramatic setting we have created a mega packed episode for you this time around! We talk massive, MASSIVE much needed reissues from those lovely Megadeth chaps, as well as a surprise reissue from those equally lovely (but much, much scarier) Down fellows. We get proper into the albums themselves, before dissecting the physical releases. Elsewhere, amongst the chaos of last minute hospital visits (trust me, you need to listen!) and much needed alcohol consumption, we manage to spin new and old purchases from the likes of Deep Purple, Paradise Lost and Frank Black. We also manage to end the show with a good old whinge at a perrenial "welcome outstayer" act from the 90s. Its a roller coaster of an episode - bring sun tan lotion and beer. Ciao. This episode is brung to you from 1981. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
