Episode 42 - "its called a Radio Flyer"

    15/06/2026 | 1h 26 mins.
Cari amici, come diavolo? We come bearing gifts, notably an anniversarial (is that a word? it is now) re-evaluation of David Bowies last will and testament "blackstar" now a decade old, which means the man left us 10 years ago - wheres the time gone? But we're getting ahead of ourselves (i ramble, whats new there?) - we open up with talk of new acquisitions by jazz legends, noise rock heroes, bonafide Gods, and returning inde rock outfits. The we finish up with thoughts on new singles and posthumous releases, with a bit of a grumble. So essentially another fun packed episode for you vinyl fans to get your teeth into. Feast my pretties, feast! This episode is brung to you from 1980.

Episode 41 - "Slightly damp and cool"

    01/06/2026 | 1h 33 mins.
Well hello there, how the devil etc etc? Welcome once again to another episode of the greatest vinyl podcast that ever was (allegedly). This week we're all about the Alice in Chains self titled super duper boxset that finally landed a mere 6 months after the order was placed (not that we're bitter) - we'll be discussing the merits of the album itself 30 years on from its release as well as a bells & whistles review of the box set - worth the cost and wait? Listen to find out! We also talk about new releases from Social Distortion (woohoo!) and Sepultura (hmmm...), yet another reissue from the Swami John camp, and a few random buys we've made since last time. We wrap it all up with a chat about new Anthrax & Deep Purple as well as Neil Young reissues. Thanks for dropping by, see you on the other side. This weeks episode is brung to you from 1979.... Episode 40 - "You don't feel guilty do you?"

    18/05/2026 | 1h 34 mins.
Welcome back once again dear listener to (hopefully) your favourite vinyl podcast! This week we open up with a chat about recent buys - its been a good week for post punk and old school classic rock - including the new (final?) At The Gates album and the latest Descendents reissue. We also focus on a new shop! The feauture is an idea we've had knocking about for a while pitting overrated albums vs underrated albums from a bands catalogue, stay tuned if you're an Anthrax or Iron Maiden fan. We close up in less ranty fashion than usual with a discussion on Godflesh, Beastie Boys, and the latest in the Metallica reissue campaign. Grab a coffee and enjoy. This week is brung to you from the year 1979. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Episode 39 - "he said something about chip shops...?"

    04/05/2026 | 1h 33 mins.
Hi there, how are we all? Lovely. Now grab a pew and take the weight off while i read this weeks menu. For starters our Simon (the southern one) regales us with tales of his RSD purchases both good and not as good, while Danny (the midlands one) talks classic punk and canadian rock, and for an added bonus both share their thoughts on the new Napalm Death/Melvins collab. If thats whetted your appetites maybe you'd be interested in the main course - this weeks its an anniversary feature with a difference - we visit 1966 for the 60th anniversaries of 2 stone cold classics - Beatles' "Revolver" and Dylan's "Blonde on Blonde". Finally, if you've left room for dessert, we talk reissues galore from thrash clasics to stoner rock to more from the Swami John Reiss stable, as well as new and upcoming stuff. Enjoy yourselves, come back again, tell your friends etc etc. This episode was brung to you from 1977. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Episode 38 - "the chain faced one"

    20/04/2026 | 1h 24 mins.
Aloha! Welcome back to the show! This weeks feature is a review of the frankly massive new release from those heavy behomoths from across the pond, the mighty Corrosion of Conformity. First album in far too long and its only a blummin' double to boot! Elsewhere Danny gets full on obsessive about REM (he's a worry, that boy) whilst Simon talks old school thrash, old school german rock, and a reissue of an unloved album. We end up with a brief RSD chat before laying into some hair metal legends. See you next time. This episode is brung to you from 1976... Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
