  • Episode 03 - 27 by Alis Griffiths
Haunted UK Fiction Presents - 27 by Alis GriffithsMy inspiration for '27' is taken from the legend of ‘The 27 Club’, where musicians, such as Kurt Cobain and Jimi Hendrix, to name a few, have died at the age of 27 - some in strange circumstances. I am fascinated by the old stories of deals being made with the devil at the crossroads, as well as being a rock music fan, and was inspired to write a modern-day tale, incorporating these themes. I am a huge fan of TV shows The X-Files, and Supernatural, and I love all things strange, unexplained, mysterious and peculiar. I enjoy reading works by Anne Rice, Stephen King, Joe Hill, and Glen Duncan, among others. I also find true-life accounts of the unexplained fascinating and enjoy researching as much as possible about these!UPCOMING WORKS: I write independently as an enthusiastic amateur - I have a few projects in progress. More on these soon!If you would like to hear more from Alis Griffiths, you can find and follow her on:SOCIAL MEDIA: Instagram: @alis_griffithsCONTACT: [email protected] you have an original story that would send a chill down our spines, and you would like to submit it for review, simply send it in to [email protected], that’s [email protected] Until next time, stay safe, and take care.

  • Episode 01 - HMP Signals End by James West
Hello and welcome, dear listeners, to this early preview of Haunted UK Fiction – a sister podcast to The Haunted UK which features original flash fiction, short stories, and novellas with paranormal themes. All stories you will hear were written by a collection of talented writers, authors, and storytellers, both independent and professional. In the leadup to our rapidly approaching launch date of 1st October, we have decided to give you a sneak peek at what’s to come.Today’s episode features a story by James West titled HMP Signals End. James wrote this story on a particularly quiet night shift whilst working as a prison officer. Being a bit of a train spotter himself, he decided to combine his work and his hobby, which yielded the idea of the rail-fed prison HMP signals End. In his own words, ghost stories are always fun to write, and he considered a ghost train to be a niche topic yet to be covered, so it seemed logical to him to follow that path…So, get comfortable, grab a little something to sip on, perhaps cuddle up under a blanket to help offset the chills coming your way… and let’s dive into the story. If you would like to hear more of James’ work, stay tuned to Haunted UK Fiction as he graciously provided another fantastic story which we plan to release at a later date.If you have an original story that would send a chill down our spines, and you would like to submit it for review, simply send it in to [email protected], that’s [email protected] next time, stay safe, and take care.
