  • Margaret Ellen Fox
Episode 10 Margaret Ellen FoxIn June, 1974, Fourteen year old Margaret Ellen Fox was excited. The Burlington City, NJ resident was trying to earn extra money over the summer to but school clothes for the upcoming school year. She and her eleven year old cousin had placed an ad in their local newspaper advertising their babysitting services. It didn't take long to get a reply. A man claiming his name was 'John Marshall' from the neighboring town of Mount Holly, called to hire the girls. Margaret's cousin wasn't allowed to babysit, but Margaret jumped at the chance, and on June 24th, she borded a bus to take the 15 minute ride to Mount Holly to meet this 'John Marshall'. She never came home. The only clue police had to work with was a Red Volkswagen that the caller said she would recognize when she got off the bus. Witnesses saw her speaking to a man with such a car after she got off the bus, but Margaret was never seen again. The phone # this mystery caller had called from turned out to be a phonebooth in front of a local store, and not a residence.  In the days following Margaret's disappearance, her parents received not only a ransom call which the FBI managed to record, but also letters in the mail. Sadly, Margaret has never returned home, and both her fate, and the identity of 'John Marshall' remain a mystery to this day. If you have information about Margaret Ellen Fox, please contact the FBI’s Newark Headquarters at 973-792-3000 or the Burlington Police Department at 609-386-3300To listen to every episode of Killer Communications ad-free and get other benefits, simply  visit our channel page on Apple Podcasts to get started with an AbJack Insider subscription. About Killer Communications

Killer Communications is a true crime podcast that looks at cases in which a victim, their family, police, or the press, are contacted by someone connected to the crime; or at least claiming to be. It flies in the face of common sense thinking; you would think that the people involved in perpetrating these crimes would want to distance themselves from them. However, you'd be shocked just how often it happens. Season 1 Episode 1 will air March 1, 2025, and new episodes drop every other Saturday. Killer Communications is an AbJack Entertainment Production. It's produced and narrated by Mike Morford, with research and writing by Abagail Belcastro.Follow Killer Communications on scoial media on Facebook or X.
