Have you still got an itch to scratch?

    17/2/2026 | 32 mins.
In this week's episode, Liz Daniels and Louise Gillings chat about the meaning of motivation (to move), what motivates them and if they are competitive, how to stay motivated, planning for the year ahead.

Of course, we all know that with horses the journey is never linear – but its how you handle those setbakcs that really matter.

And the questions for everyone to ponder, what itch do you still have left to scratch?

The Gaucho Grannies: The 500km Challenge Ahead

    27/1/2026 | 32 mins.
Liz Daniels is joined by EquiTeam member Dot Still and Hilary Barnard, better known as the "Gaucho Grannies", as they prepare to take on the gruelling Gaucho Derby, a 500km adventure race on horseback across the wild landscapes of Patagonia, all in support of Riders Minds.
Both Dot and Hilary have previously represented Great Britain internationally in TREC, so they're no strangers to endurance riding, challenging terrain and complex navigation. But the Gaucho Derby brings a unique twist: it's a true test of horsemanship, with wild camping and semi-feral horses allocated by drawing numbers from a hat.
Riding over 10 days, sleeping in tents, going without showers and navigating the realities of life on the trail, the Argentinian race will push them physically and mentally. In this episode, they share what it takes to prepare for such an extraordinary challenge - from planning and survival skills to mindset, resilience and character.
An inspiring conversation about adventure, determination and stepping well outside your comfort zone.

How can I budget for my horse better?

    19/1/2026 | 30 mins.
There is one thing that Liz loves as much as fermented products, and that is spreadsheets and numbers – add the two together and you'll probably find her sitting in a dark room, so if you want to hear Equiteam's Liz squirming in her seat, then this is the podcast for you!

All well-being banter aside, on this week's episode Liz welcomes Financial Advisor, Craig Anderson from Strathtay Wealth Management, to chat about budgeting and managing your equestrian finances in a practical but strategic way.

From monthly budgeting, accountability, buffers and forward planning, horsey husband and Financial planner Craig shares his brilliant advice.

You might know what your monthly outgoings for things like mortgage repayments, utility bills, phone etc but do you know how much your horse costs each month?!

    Don't think you're not good enough…

    13/1/2026 | 34 mins.
EquiTeam member Jen Craig chats to Liz Daniels about dreams coming true as she shares her amazing journey to The London International Horse Show.

Having qualified for LIHS in May, with New Proposal (Shameless), owned by her sister Joanne, in the BSHA Rising Star Heavyweight Hunters, Jen recalls a year of challenges and budgeting whilst managing a horse who likes to find himself in harmful situations resulting in stitches and box rest; not to mention Jen being taken to hospital, and then the lorry breaking down two hours from London!

Jen shares her journey, her inspiration and advice for others chasing their dreams.
