  • 42 - Our Last Christmas
It’s hard for him to enjoy the Christmas party, when he’s getting alerts from home. There’s a strange man at the door, and he’s creating strange patterns in the snow...The New Ghost Stories Podcast is back to dial up the fear this festive season. But it’s a different type of festival chiller this year. A real-time story about how a life fell apart in just a matter of hours. So settle down, treat yourself to a nice warm drink, sit down by the fire and listen. And hope that only friends come to your door this Christmas.Patrons help to keep this UK horror podcast going. • 3 Bonus Shorts
A parting gift from me – 3 short readings that haven’t been released on the main feed before. You’ll hear A Little Place Off the Edgware Road by Graham Greene, followed by Sredni Vashtar by Saki, and The Man and the Snake by Ambroise Bierce. The recording for Sredni Vashar is a few years old, so apologies for the dip in audio quality here.

  • 41 - A Rhythm of Eight part 2
Can a monster that won't die, be defeated by a man who thinks he's dead already?   We come to the end of a long road. Not just in terms of this decade-spanning – or indeed the end of season 4 of the podcast. This is last regular episode of this ghost story podcast. At least for now. Thanks so much for listening. I hope this final horror story has been worth waiting for.A big thanks to Karyna Collier-Marsh for helping out with these episodes. • 40 - A Rhythm of Eight part 1
8 knocks. 8 victims. An undying monster finds a new home in an old hotel. Who will be his next victim? A man who’s lost his mind or a woman at risk of losing hers? What better way to end Season 4 – and this phase of the podcast – by solving the show’s oldest supernatural mystery. In episode 1, we met an uncanny killer, a paranormal entity that kills slowly, tormenting his victims using a rhythm of six knocks. After that episode, I asked if anyone had any further information. And someone answered the call. And that triggered the longest, most detailed investigation into the unexplained that I’ve ever undertaken…Patrons help to keep this UK horror podcast going. • Novel of the White Powder by Arthur Machen (Bonus 10)
“By the power of that Sabbath wine, a few grains of white powder thrown into a glass of water, the house of life was riven asunder and the human trinity dissolved” I’ve moved the annual summer bonus episode up in the schedule to give me more time to work on the season finale. Alas, I’ve only just about managed to put this episode out on time, nevermind start on the next one. Oh well, finger’s crossed things will still stay on schedule.  The story I’ve chosen is a weird fiction classic by Arthur Machen. In some ways this is a more traditional supernatural genre narrative than some of his strange and debauched classics like The White People and The Great God Pan. But the gruesome transformation in this tale has always particularly stuck in my mind.  Patrons help to keep this UK horror podcast going.
