UNBEATEN! Leeds Start Fast + The Full Window Debrief with Leeds Live's Isaac Johnson
07/09/2026 | 39 mins.Rocco is joined by Isaac Johnson of Leeds Live to look back on a tidy start to the season and a summer window Isaac reckons is near perfect.
Three games in and Leeds are unbeaten. A smash-and-grab winner at Forest, a competent cup win back at the City Ground, then two draws that would very likely have been defeats last season. The lads dig into what has actually changed: a bolder set-up, more street-wise-ness, and the fact Leeds were one of only nine clubs in the league to keep their manager over the summer.
Then the window. How Leeds beat off interest to sign James Trafford, and why his arrival plus Ethan Ampadu's early contract sends a message to every other target. Tarik Muharemović settling in like he has been here for years at 23. Nico Elvedi, Jaka Bijol and the selection headache in the back three. Why the Rodon injury might be the only reason Melvin Bard is a Leeds player at all. Michael Zetterer as possibly the best backup keeper in the division. And the deadline day pivot to Jean-Mattéo Bahoya after the Chelsea deal fell apart, plus why Julian Brandt was never quite convinced.
Plus: the one position Isaac still worries about, the Chelsea cup tie, Newcastle under the lights at Elland Road, the away draw curse, and how the West Stand build is changing matchday.
Isaac writes for Leeds Live and his free Marching On newsletter is out every Friday on Substack, just past 1,000 subscribers. Follow him at @IsaacJohnsonLL.

We get into the goal, the three debutants, and whether Farke actually planned to win it from a set piece. Plus: does a tennis background make you a better free kick taker? Stach's dad is the voice of tennis in Germany and once told his own son to stop embarrassing him live on air.
Then it's back to Nottingham on Tuesday for the cup, and a look at Brentford, who put four goals' worth of chances past Spurs and are coming to Elland Road.
Elsewhere: Hull turn over Man United, Spurs spend £228m and lose 3-0, and Sandro Tonali finds row Z.

Joe Rodon turned into a right winger, Tarik Muharemovic looked every bit the Rolls-Royce defender Daniel Farke called him, and Alex Cairns played all 120 minutes for a clean sheet while getting serenaded as England's number one. Meanwhile Joel Piroe didn't get a single minute out of 120, which tells you everything about where he sits.
We also get into the club record signing of James Trafford, Karl Darlow's move to Manchester United, why Farke's new contract still hasn't been announced, the unfinished dugouts at Elland Road with two weeks until the season, the new Fan Park plans, the 80% away attendance rule and Wednesday night at Croke Park.

15/06/2026 | 44 mins.James, Darragh and Rocco are back for a summer catch-up - and despite "nothing happening," there's plenty to chew over. We kick off with the new Adidas 26/27 away kit (Rocco's not sold on the navy shorts), the historic trefoil logo and Leeds moving up Adidas' premium tier, before getting stuck into Paraag Marathe's annual address and what it tells us about how the 49ers are running the club.
Then the big one: Ethan Ampadu's new four-year deal, no relegation clause, and why locking down the captain so early is the biggest statement Leeds could make this summer. The boys debate Farke's future, the transfer targets doing the rounds (Diomande, Harry Wilson and the never-ending goalkeeper search), who's likely to leave, and whether Gnonto could be another one that gets away.
Plus: Rocco's off to Mexico for Uruguay v Spain at the World Cup, a genius (or daft?) idea for fixing extra time, why Karl Darlow might just be the answer in goal, and a lovely Rafinha tribute to Liam Cooper to finish.

28/05/2026 | 1h 3 mins.James, Darragh and Rocco look back on Leeds United's first season back in the Premier League with the end of season awards. After finishing 14th on 47 points, eight clear of the drop, with an FA Cup semi-final run and a first league win at Old Trafford since 1981, Daniel Farke's side delivered a season nobody outside Elland Road saw coming.
The lads hand out awards across eight categories - best match, team performance, individual performance, goal of the season, signing of the season, season low, surprise hero and player of the year - with plenty of disagreement along the way. Plus a tribute to Illan Meslier, shoutouts to the players who didn't make the shortlists, and a teaser of the summer transfer chat to come.
