  • "Why should there be a bar in hairdressing?"... Danielle's mission to reach beyond the 'limit' hairdressers are led to believe is possible.
I recently sat down with the lovely Danielle Polompo to learn about her journey from declaring herself homeless, to hairdressing mentor. Danielle shared her very personal story with me, which she has given full permission for me to share. This is of course a cut down version and it goes without saying that she has been on some journey to get to where she is today. Therapy, self development and a positive mindset, are some of the tools she's used to help create success and I can't wait to see what's to come for her in the future. Danielle's mission is to change some of the attitudes in the hair industry and to encourage fellow hairdressers to know their worth. Since being the little girl who was asked, "are you sure that's what you want to do?" Hairdressing has always been her passion, and she's just getting started. Support the showWant to keep up to date with who's to come on future episodes? • Sammy's business took a toll on both her physical and mental health, causing her to have a mini stroke. Here's how she overcame her business struggles.
Once again, as a follower looking in from the outside, I had no idea what Sammy went through go get her businesses to where they are today. Another example of how you never really know what a person has gone through until you sit down and have a conversation with them. Sammy's made a promise to herself to never be in that position again. You can follow her story by searching @s.a.m.m.y.m.a.c and her salons can be found at @heritagesalonsSupport the showWant to keep up to date with who's to come on future episodes? • "You have to take action for it to work..." Nicola on fighting darkness, finding strength and inspiring change.
TRIGGER WARNING: This episode covers suicide and mental health struggles. If that's something you'd rather not to listen to right now, please feel free to skip and come back when you're ready. I've known Nicola for many years now, and knew when I wanted to launch my own podcast, I'd be asking her to come on as a guest. Luckily she said yes, and we sat in my garden on possibly the hottest day of summer.Nicola is a big character, with a big heart. And although her social feeds consist of inspiring and motivational posts, it goes without saying that she's had her own struggles. Even then, she continued to show up for others, before realising change had to happen. You can find her using @iam_nbfitness to follow along her journey. Here is Nicola's story so far, I hope you enjoy it.Nicola's Book RecommendationsLet Them: Mel RobbinsNever Split the Difference: Chris VossGood Vibes, Good Life: Vex KingAtomic Habits: James ClearRelentless: Tim S GroverSupport the showWant to keep up to date with who's to come on future episodes? • "Failure was never an option..." How Sam turned her love for spray tanning into a golden legacy.
I've been following Sam and her Brown Sugar journey for quite some time on my social pages and I knew in the early days of this podcast that she'd be someone I'd hope to sit down with some day. Luckily for me, I managed to grab a spot in her calendar and hear her story so far. Sam's social feed features some of the people she has been lucky to work with on her journey so far, but what I noticed most, is that these opportunities haven't taken her away from where she began her empire.  The loyalty she has to her clients is truly special and you can see just how much she appreciates everyone who walks through her door. If you want to follow along her journey search @brownsugarbysammilneSupport the showWant to keep up to date with who's to come on future episodes? • "I have one goal professionally, to see children grow into in-tune adults." How being a chiropractor is so much more to Aurélie than cracks & clicks.
I first met Aurélie two years ago when I took our youngest girl for a check up. It wasn't the easiest day, hearing how her body wasn't aligned and how various things were out of place but Aurélie provided a safe space, support and a way forward for our now almost 4 year old whom I can barely keep up with on a day to day basis!I wanted to hear about her journey to where she is today and I am so glad she agreed to come on to the podcast. She also invited me into her beautiful home and was the perfect host for our recording. Here is Aurélie's story so far. I hope you enjoy it. To find out more about her clinic and the services provided visit: https://chirobliss.org/en/Support the showWant to keep up to date with who's to come on future episodes?
