From miners witnessing unexplained things in the area where a colleague tragically lost his life, to strange shadowy figures and unsettling poltergeist activity in a mining town factory in the middle of the night.

When you think of the French Quarter in New Orleans, your mind may immediately think of the iconic Jackson Square, with the cathedral, the street artists, and the imposing Andrew Jackson statue right in the middle of it all.

While Jackson Square may now be an idyllic stop for tourists and locals alike, its history is far darker, and may explain the unusual goings-on that have been reported long after most visitors have retired for the evening…

The French Quarter is said to be the most haunted area of New Orleans, and with over 300 years of dark history since the city was founded, it’s not hard to see why.

In Part 1 of this haunted French Quarter ‘tour’, we’re chatting about some famously (and not so well-known) haunted spots in the Vieux Carré, including the Andrew Jackson Hotel, Flanagan’s (formerly the Morgue), Hotel Provincial, Cafe Sbisa, Cafe Du Monde, and Muriel’s.
