    24/03/2026 | 1h
We love hearing from you! After listening to an episode, if you’d like to share a comment or ask a question, just click here to send us your message.
Episode 185: Liz Allan, Jane Lanceley and Amy Howells - Rethinking Heat: Practical, Low-Carbon Solutions That Work Anywhere.
Liz Allan is joined by Jane Lanceley, the Domestic Sales Manager, and Amy Howells, the Business Development Manager, from Herschel Infrared Heaters, for a refreshingly practical conversation about low-carbon heating and what it actually takes to make it work in the real world.
Together, they explore why heating is never a one-size-fits-all solution, from single rooms in domestic homes through to complex commercial environments and even historic buildings like churches. The discussion brings to life how understanding heat loss, insulation, and how a space is actually used is far more important than simply choosing a technology.
The conversation also touches on the role of policy, the need for broader recognition of alternative low-carbon technologies, and the flexibility now available through everything from simple thermostats to fully app-controlled systems.
    Quote of the Episode:
"We've got a huge amount of experience in heating all sorts of different applications… we can pretty much heat anything." Jane Lanceley
    Jane Lanceley Bio:
Jane Lanceley has spent over a decade helping customers understand and adopt low-carbon heating solutions. Her career has taken a varied, people-focused path, from working in HR to running a baby-signing franchise, and later moving into estate agency. She initially joined Herschel in an administrative role, but quickly found a natural fit speaking with customers about the product and its real-world applications. Over time, this evolved into a sales leadership role, in which she now combines technical expertise with a practical, customer-first approach.
    Amy Howells Bio:
Amy Howells brings a strong background in customer-facing roles across manufacturing and lighting. After studying sociology and criminology at university, Amy moved into sales and has built her career through a range of regional and business development roles. Amy focuses on understanding individual needs and helping customers find the right solution for their space. Her approach is centred on building trust, simplifying decisions, and making low-carbon heating solutions feel accessible and relevant.
