  • BONUS: Reviewing Daybreak As You Do
In this episode, we review all of Daybreak as Natasha watched this whole show! If you're keeping score... I am not, so please tell me who is winning. We discuss Turbo & Wesley (a very real ship), Eli (a very real character in this show that exists), and just generally being a cannibal as an excuse to torture children (you know, normal things). Join us for the wild ride that is Daybreak.P.S. I said I would read Lenni's response after this episode, but it was SO long that it will be a separate bonus episodeFollow Natasha at twitter.com/natashadamours Follow Jessica at twitter.com/jessicairowe Email us at [email protected], tweet at us @epiphaniespod, and follow us on Insta @epiphaniespod Intro and outro music is Feelin Good by Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com)

  • 64. Watching Daybreak for Ferris Bueller, John Green & the Weeaboos
In this episode, Jessica makes Natasha watch Daybreak, a Netflix apocalypse show that is scary-similar to The Last Kids on Earth. (We're talking the same zombie-survival town map, the same gathering our friends vibe, and the same monsters and zombies in one apocalypse theme.) Listen as we discuss Sam Dean the Supernatural-themed John Green protagonist, our flashback king Josh, and Angelica the bomb girl. Natasha comes up with some wild fanfic that I personally vote we force them to write, as it would be a very fun apocalypse story to read. And then I try to come up with any answers at all for our usual questions given that I remember extremely little about this show. Will Natasha survive the apocalypse? Or will she lose jock idol and be thrown to the zombies? You'll have to listen to find out.Follow Natasha at twitter.com/natashadamours Follow Jessica at twitter.com/jessicairowe Email us at [email protected], tweet at us @epiphaniespod, and follow us on Insta @epiphaniespod Intro and outro music is Feelin Good by Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com)

  • 63. Watching The Last Kids on Earth for the Joint Zombie-Monster Apocalypse
In this episode, Natasha makes Jessica watch The Last Kids on Earth, a Netflix cartoon about... well, the last kids on Earth. We discuss the peculiarities of this apocalypse -- like why are there both monsters AND zombies running around -- and the manic pixie dream girl apocalypse trope that has been aged down for this audience. It wouldn't be an episode of epiphanies if we didn't have at least one queer ship that never happens to gush over and boy do we. Will Jessica be endeared by the last kids on Earth and want to see them saved? Or will she callously leave them to their fate? You'll have to listen to find out.Follow Natasha at twitter.com/natashadamours Follow Jessica at twitter.com/jessicairowe Email us at [email protected], tweet at us @epiphaniespod, and follow us on Insta @epiphaniespod Intro and outro music is Feelin Good by Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com)

  • 62. Watching OITNB for the Lesbians
(Have we used this title before? It feels like we've used this title before. It's a good title. We watch a lot of things for the lesbians.) In this episode, Jessica makes Natasha watch the iconic Netflix drama Orange is the New Black. We discuss the legacy of this show, how it was presented when it first came out, the many famous characters who do not appear in this episode, and more. Delve into our discussion of lesbians in the early 2000s and the dark mundanity of the American prison system. We're launching a new format in this episode with no full recap of the episode. So if you haven't seen the pilot of OITNB, watch it now! Will Natasha get caught up in the prison system? Or will they break free of this show's clutches? You'll have to listen to find out. • 61. Watching Danny Phantom for our Trans Headcanon
In this episode, Natasha makes Jessica watch Danny Phantom, a cartoon about a boy who is a ghost superhero because obviously that is what you do when you become a ghost. Listen to us talk about the brilliant way this show does exposition, our little jock boy who is also a teacher's pet, and the unhinged parenting Danny and Jazz are subjected to. Then hear us ponder how the heck this show thinks cloning works if the answer isn't either Danny or Dani is trans. Like. Fundamentally, what does the word cloning mean to them? Will Jessica go ghost mode and watch this show? Or will she disappear through the ghost door forever? You'll have to listen to find out.Follow Natasha at twitter.com/natashadamours Follow Jessica at twitter.com/jessicairowe Email us at [email protected], tweet at us @epiphaniespod, and follow us on Insta @epiphaniespod Intro and outro music is Feelin Good by Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com)
