Two Parents & A Podcast

This week on Two Parents & A Podcast, we are LOCKED IN on Coachella Weekend 1. SORRY in advance if this is a little bit of a departure from the norm, but it was truly all we could think about this week (besides the fact that the baby is coming in T-5 days... are we using Coachella as a distraction? Probably). And if you were worried this one wasn’t parent-heavy enough, don’t worry... Jules already yelled at us about that, so make sure you stay for the second half.

So yes, we spend the first 40 minutes getting into Justin Bieber’s nostalgic comeback (is he BACK back??), StubHubGate, our idea for a parent version of Coachella (Babychella, obviously), Coachella vs. the Masters, and somehow Justin Trudeau x Katy Perry at Coachella (does he have Coachella pull??? lol).

Then we get into a little nighttime paci update because limiting the paci to bedtime really does seem to be helping the whole process, plus the very humbling reminder that no two pregnancies are the same. We also talk about what it feels like when your “pregnancy class” starts graduating before you, which is a very niche but very real emotional experience lol.

Then it’s Bicker of the Week on when it is actually OK to honk, why it feels weirdly awkward when parents ask if your kid can have food, and This Week We Learned: move the baby to dad’s side of the bed.

This week on Two Parents & A Podcast, we’re talking labor induction, due date myths, and birth signs (because YES, we are officially T-10 days and I’m overanalyzing cusp babies, my last meal before birth, and why hospital bags are such a thing in the first place.) We also get into WHY I’m getting induced again, the fact that dilation charts are absolutely insane (Cheerio -> BAGEL?!), and the craziest places people have given birth (NYC subway car = new fear unlocked), which, if anything, did not calm me down at all.

We start with Facebook in 2026 being the actual wild, wild west, Harrison getting very locked in for the World Cup (turns out it’s not for 2 months??? but it’s EVERYWHERE), and the realization that kids really do teach you to stop and smell the roses (literally). Plus, Tate’s first dance recital is coming and I’m already emotional about it.

Then we get into a little pop culture break, including who is actually A-list (apparently NOT Hilary Duff??), West and Amanda (skip if you must), and our Paradise season 1 review.

Plus, sorry, we have like 10 minutes of doom and gloom: (1) Texas Roadhouse “butter” not actually being butter, and (2) lead found in baby clothes (guys... being a consumer is hard).

Okay, finally, we end with something to celebrate: a plane passenger gives birth mid-flight, and both mom and baby are healthy!!! I tried to think of the craziest place I could give birth and we figured it out (LIVE ON THE POD hahahha).

This week on Two Parents & A Podcast, we’re coming off Easter weekend (still in our pastels!) and Harrison is officially petitioning for no work on Easter Mondays (too much Aperol!) Which got us thinking... when did Easter become Christmas in spring?!  That turns into a bigger conversation about gifts, toys, and the very real question of whether your kid can actually have TOO MANY (especially once you find the one toy they’ll play with for 30+ mins and suddenly everything else in the room starts feeling unnecessary). 

We also get into postpartum prep for baby #2, and how buying all of that stuff again brought back a LOT of memories from the first time around (some of which I think I had conveniently blocked out). We talk through what we actually need this time, what we’re doing differently with baby #2, and why second-time prep feels way less chaotic.

Then we get into the toddler phase we’re very much in right now: teaching street safety without fully terrifying yourself (and the toddler!!!), whether “gentle parenting” got a bad rap, and what a kid under 2 can actually understand when you’re trying to keep them safe.
