- (S3E46) – Stay Dead! (Ryan Garney)
It is unbelievable that we have never had Ryan Garney (High Desert Queen, duh) on the show before, but the stars had just never aligned…until now, as the man himself joins to talk about his new project dropping their debut record today, July 24, via Ripple Music, Stay Dead! So, on this episode of Rich and Turbo’s Heavy Half Hour (S3E46), Ryan tells us all about this very special project, titled Beneath the Weight of Worlds, a project founded by U.S. Army veteran Christopher Borrelli, and the story of how and why this band came to be. We talk about all sorts of other stuff, including diving deep into Beneath the Weight of Worlds and all the guests who appear on it (Matt Pike, anyone?), some other stuff Ryan has been up to (you guys hear the Plaindrifter record yet?), and he even teases some other cool things on the horizon. Ryan is the best, and this new project is special (and amazing), so go check out Stay Dead!, buy it, then come check out our discussion. - (S3E45) – Morrison Graves
On this episode of Rich and Turbo’s Heavy Half Hour (S3E45), we have Gary and Ryan from the Portland collective Morrison Graves join the show. I loved their 2022 record, Division Rising, but was not sure if it was a one off or if Morrison Graves was a long term project…their new (and killer) EP, Under the Weight of Gravity, which dropped on July 17th, answers that for us in the best way possible. If you have not heard of the band, the closest comparison I would give would be The Black Angels, but these guys are their own thing for sure. We talk about the band, the new material, concept albums, the band name, which we get out of the way quickly, and so much more. Morrison Graves is great and there is a lot of cool stuff to come from them, so check out Under the Weight of Gravity then come listen to our interview. - (S3E44) – Coffin Hunters
One of my favorite things about doing this show is learning about local scenes and other bands I may not have heard of before. When I spoke with Jonny from Soft Curse about the Santa Rosa, CA scene, the first band he mentioned is the band featured on this episode of Rich and Turbo’s Heavy Half Hour (S3E44), as Brian Crites from Coffin Hunters joins the show. Brian and I discuss the band’s new record, Cosmic Dawn, that drops today, July 17, and its rules, especially if you dig some killer proto/classic metal/NWOTHM. We talk about Cosmic Dawn, the band’s history, as well as the record release show coming up with Soft Curse and Glowing Brain on July 18th. Go check out the new record, but the vinyl, then come back and listen to our chat. - (S3E43) – Shadow Of Jupiter
July 10th, 2026 has some pretty amazing records dropping, so make sure you do not miss the AOTY candidate from the guests on this episode of Rich and Turbo’s Heavy Half Hour (S3E43), all four members of Chicago’s Shadow Of Jupiter! We have a lot to talk about, and boy do we talk a lot, but we especially cover that AOTY candidate, Bones, their second record and debut on Ripple Music, that is simply killer. We get deep into Bones and a bunch more, even the Chicago Bears stadium gets worked into our chat. I love these guys and I love the new record, so go check out Bones then check out our interview. - (S3E42) – KITSA
On the eve of one of our favorite bands dropping new music for the first time in over two years, on this episode of Rich and Turbo’s Heavy Half Hour (S3E42), direct from the studio, Port Orchard, Washington’s KITSA joins the show! The guys are dropping their first single, Avaleigh, on all platforms on July 7th and it will be the first song available from their new record (yes, I said new record!), KITSA II. We talk all about II and so much more with the guys, so please check out our chat then go get that first single the second it drops. KITSA rules, and the new record is going to take these guys to the next level for sure.
