  • #SlamRadio - 637 - Clarisa Kimskii
Brooklyn-based DJ and producer Clarisa Kimskii has cemented her musical footprint on the borough since moving back in 2022. Through a palpable blend of psychedelic and driving techno, Clarisa’s approach to the genre is deeply idiosyncratic - an assemblage of both timeless and modern grooves. As a producer, Clarisa has contributed to a handful of respected labels (Monday Off, Dusk & Haze, Mysteries of the Deep, etc.) within her sonic niche, but it’s through her own label L.A.G where the ethos of her sound truly takes form - a detailed variation of propulsive and atmospheric soundscapes. Clarisa is deeply rooted in the techno subculture’s underground, the 20+ year veteran is a regular at city’s premiere institutions like BASEMENT or Nowadays. Clarisa used to be a resident DJ at Brooklyn-based Merge from 2022-2024. Her pure, yet passionate approach to DJing has graced the decks of memorable nights at international institutions in Tresor, Berghain, Ratherlost or Blitz, and at notably iconic parties in Wrecked, Club Toilet, Pornceptual, and The Bunker NY. Recent festival appearances at Taiwan’s Organik Festival and North America’s Honcho Campout, Draaimolen, Rural Festival and Sustain-Release have only elevated her reputation as a force within those respective communities. The saga continues with juicy bits on the horizon. • #SlamRadio - 636 - JKS
Since his beginnings with the Molekül label, JKS ventured into exciting artistic realms - culminating in the establishment of his own imprint "Smile Sessions" in 2020. His sonic journey is a fusion of 90's nostalgia, creating a musical tapestry that embraces a multitude of influences. From crunchy old-school beats to contemporary tracks, K S skillfully navigates and harnesses chaos in his DJ sets, crafting a unique and eclectic experience for his audience. JKS is working on solo tracks and/or remixes for VA compilations, but we can’t announce anything yet except a remix on Hyden - Tensor EP [SMILE008] (to be released on JKS' label, Smile Sessions) Tracklist via -Spotify: bit.ly/SRonSpotify -Reddit: www.reddit.com/r/Slam_Radio/ -Facebook: bit.ly/SlamRadioGroup Archive on Mixcloud: www.mixcloud.com/slam/   Subscribe to our podcast on -iTunes: apple.co/2RQ1xdh -Amazon Music: amzn.to/2RPYnX3 -Google Podcasts: bit.ly/SRGooglePodcasts -Deezer: bit.ly/SlamRadioDeezer   Keep up with SLAM: https://fanlink.tv/Slam  Keep up with Soma Records: https://linktr.ee/somarecords    For syndication or radio queries: [email protected] & [email protected] Slam Radio is produced at www.glowcast.co.uk

  • #SlamRadio - 635 - Niamh Jobson B2B Kairogen
This sublime mix was recorded at Slam's monthly Return To Mono party at the Sub Club in Glasgow. After that night Niamh Jobson was immediately asked to become a resident at RTM. some heartfelt words from kairogen: it’s hard to process that i won’t be able to dj with niamh jobson again when we were just getting started. i remember meeting before this set to practice, niamh realising she’d forgotten all her usb’s - later found in the washing machine. that day, it felt like we were making breakthroughs, refining our styles and finding a space further up the bpm scale that worked together. i called it ‘dark groove’ - her minimal, stylish sound with a funky, sexy edge that kept things rolling without being too obvious. we were excited to play, but the night had its challenges. niamh had been battling osteosarcoma and had recently had her leg amputated, now replaced with a silver sparkly prosthetic. my playlists hadn’t copied over, which i realised five minutes before the set - shaking hands, sweat forming - until niamh handed me a spare usb and i got back on track. niamh was so unwell at the time that even djing was hard. i remember fixing the jogwheel when she could hardly reach, sorting her wig, and narrowly saving a track from cutting to silence. we laughed when i also accidentally paused the track that was playing - we’d both always panic but laugh through these moments, which is what friendship behind the decks is all about. some things going wrong and loads of things going right is what makes djing fun, especially b2b - being in sync while keeping individuality. niamh’s ability came so quickly and effortlessly, and i only wish we had been able to hear more. she had a deep knowledge of sound for her age. it’s frustrating that she had so much more to give, but what she achieved musically in such a short time was huge and will always be a special memory. ❤️ tracklist via -spotify: bit.ly/sronspotify -reddit: www.reddit.com/r/slam_radio/ -facebook: bit.ly/slamradiogroup archive on mixcloud: www.mixcloud.com/slam/   subscribe to our podcast on -itunes: apple.co/2rq1xdh -amazon music: amzn.to/2rpynx3 -google podcasts: bit.ly/srgooglepodcasts -deezer: bit.ly/slamradiodeezer   keep up with slam: https://fanlink.tv/slam  keep up with soma records: https://linktr.ee/somarecords    for syndication or radio queries: [email protected] & [email protected] slam radio is produced at www.glowcast.co.uk

  • #SlamRadio - 634 - Sev Dah
Berlin, Detroit, Birmingham and, of course, Sarajevo. Bosnian-built and -bred Sev Dah may be a Swedish expat, but the Balkan blackness clings strongly to the bleak percussions and rigidly uneasy synthetics that unwillingly fuse into his strongly individual take on techno. Authentically purveying the pulsations of the nakedly throbbing and ugly world, far away from Starbucks and H&M. Signed to respected labels such as Random Island, Mote-Evolver and Kaiser's KSR, he quickly gnawed his way into the scene’s core of DJs and producers. Sev is even managing new projects on his own label Proletarijat since 2016. Like a rabid mongrel, since 1998 he has been chewing and belching new bastard beats that are aching to scream out. Consequently there’s a steaming and steady stream of vinyl releases coming. With influences ranging from Stigmata and Mills to Master Reese and Petar Dundov, Sev Dah is a versatile but headstrong DJ that can gently ease a thumb in at midnight or fervently thrust it down the hatch at peak time.
