  • Episode Thirteen: Stand By Me
What a whirlwind of a six months it has been! Johnny and Dave and ecstatic to have you here for the season one finale. Tonight our boys are so proud to present you with their takes on Stand By Me, aka The Body. Maybe revisionist history, but Dave remembers this as either his first or second King read, and easily a first favorite for both of our heroes. As always, Johnny will dazzle you with production, including a butt load of Hollywood nepotism. While Dave talks cultural impact, and, of course, Hollywood nepotism. Without any doubt, so far, Rob Reiner's Stand By Me is the absolute best adaptation of a King work, and the perfect season finle.

  • Episode Twelve: Cocaine The Movie
Welcome back to The Pastel's Podcast: On Stephen King! This week our heroes answer the question, "What if Cocaine made a movie?" Thats right, this week we are reviewing 1986's Maximum Overdrive! Written and directed by Stephen King with music, unsurprisingly, by ACDC, this movie from start to finish is the worst in the best way possible. Johnny covers another production filmed in Wilmington, but the first one set there, and Dave reminds us that if it's pop culture, the Simpson's did it. Whether you are more into murderous soda machines or ATM's that call you an asshole, you are bound to have a good time here, especially with a good friend and some good brews. Enjoy!

Prepare yourself for an entertaining ride through this wonderful werewolf film, complete with an epic pimp-my-rided wheelchair, and all the Gary Busey adlibs you could possibly ask for! Johnny covers more Dino drama and the potential legacy of TV only directors, while Dave celebrates the long awaited return of proffesional wrestling tie ins to Stephen King movies. And if that wasn't enough for you they even discuss German bluray releases! What fun!

  • Episode Ten: Drew and Dino's Double Feature! Part Two: Cat's Eye!
Who's ready for Drew BarryMORE? Welcome back to Drew and Dino's Double Feature! We continue our journey with 1985's horror anthology Cat's Eye. This movie exists purely because Dino couldn't get enough Drew and it shows as she plays 2ish characters in the film! If you've ever wondered what it would be like if a movie crammed together three random stories with only a cat as the connective tissue, this movie is for you! Johnny loves the practical effects and Dave asks, does a horror anthology movie really need a disco ballad? And, as an added treat, our heroes team up to trash Dino's wild wage manipulation across two films. F*ck that guy, am I right? Support Unions! #SAG-AFTRA #WGA

  • Episode Nine: Drew and Dino's Double Feature! Part One: Firestarter
The Pastel's Podcast is stoked to welcome you to Drew and Dino's Double Feature! In Part One, our heros explore 1984's Firestarter. Drew and Dino are off to a firey start in the not-quite-a classic that includes cheesy fireballs, an crazy amount of head squeezing, and George C. Scott with a ponytail! Johnny covers the early starts of the King V. Dino fueds while Dave waxes poetic on the reality of letting a child who murdered 30 people in front of you live in your home! You wont want to miss this one, if only for the Pastel's music recommendations and the most existential question ever posed: Warlock Dick v. Wolf Dick. Please enjoy! *Disclaimer* Heather Locklear was in T.J. Hooker and its Thirty Seconds to Mars most recent album that is trash, not the first.
