Fishery FastLane

I've been busy with BP Milling, and on the day of the biggest product launch in the businessses history, I took a moment to sit down and reflect on everything that's happened behind the scenes.
Chatting away led me to a chapter of my life that I've never spoken about publicly. It's a story I've shared with only a handful of people, a journey that once looked incredibly promising, but ultimately became my biggest ever failure.

Sparsholt College rivals reunited! I studied Fishery Management at Sparsholt College with Mark. It didn't take long to recognised how employable he was right from the get go, he was the man to beat!

It's been great to catch up with Mark in recent years, both sharing the same passions for angling and rugby! Marks story is different to most of the other students that I studied with, having listened to his calling in his late twenties, making that pivot towards his passion and making the leap back into education later than most of us.

Now the river keeper of an enormous Cotswold estate. Mark tells the story of how the opportunity of a lifetime came to be.  A true traditional country gentleman that is fully deserving of the life that was once just a pipe dream.

Dan comes from the 'Golden Era' of fisheries graduates, studying at Sparsholt alongside the likes of Viv Shears and Andrew Ellis. In this episode Dan shares his story that led to his current position as Fisheries lecturer at Plumpton College.

Dan has gone above and beyond to put Plumpton on the map as a recognised fisheries college, a reflection of his passion and genuine interest in fisheries and countryside management more broadly. Dan often uses humour to deliver his knowledge and experience to his groups of students, a top bloke that genuinely cares.
