OCD stands for Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, OCD is a mental health condition where people can experience intrusive, unwanted thoughts called obsessions. In some cases of OCD, people can feel driven to perform certain actions or rituals known as compulsions to ease the anxiety those thoughts bring. These thoughts can have no bearing on a person's reality. OCD isn’t about being neat or organized; it’s about feeling stuck in a loop your mind doesn’t want to let go of. In this episode, we’ll explore what that really means, share our own personalĀ  experiences and talk to Ella about how she has navigated her OCD throughout pregnancy and motherhood so far. Please remember whilst listening that this is Ella’s lived experience and she has been very brave to share this with us. Please also remember that OCD can look completely different amongst patients. If you are struggling with OCD or know someone who is please seek help.Love MKBxxxAs always, feel free to reach out to us, we'd love to know what you want to hear about on the podcast and our DMs are always open!IG: @mumknowsbestpodcastTikTok: @mumknowsbestpodcastor message us at [email protected] find out more about our incredible guest, you can find Ella Mae on IG @ellamaestatham

  • MKB chat about tunes, love of the rave and redefining birth with Raw Silk DJ and The Bold Birth Coach founder, Steph Smith.
Tallulah and Sophie are back! This week we are joined by the legendary Steph Smith, one half of the Raw Silk DJ duo, mum and founder of new biz 'The Bold Birth Coach'.Ā Steph is wicked. She's honest, passionate and a real advocate for redefining a mother's birthing experience. In this episode, we discuss the shifting balance of priorities when becoming a mother, navigating the reality of working, parenting and carving out space for passions.Ā Steph spoke candidly about her own birthing experience and what led her to founding 'The Bold Birth Coach'. During her pregnancy, Steph dedicated a lot of time and energy into preparing herself for birth, both through a hypnobirthing course and her own research. It was this preparation and awareness that she believed helped her make informed decisions when it came to her own birth, despite her delivery being different from what she had planned.Ā Steph is a big advocate for women's health, informed decision-making and support and she, like many of us, found that there seemed to be something missing for a lot of women when it came to antenatal education. Steph trained with 'The Riot Birth Network' and upon founding 'The Bold Birth Coach', she aims to provide evidence-based support for women in their pregnancy and birth journey. We LOVED speaking with Steph and we hope you enjoy this episode!Much love,Ā MKB (Tallulah and Sophie)xxxAs always feel free to reach out to us, we'd love to know what you want to hear about on the podcast and our DMs are always open!IG: @mumknowsbestpodcastTikTok: @mumknowsbestpodcastor message us at [email protected]
