- PINT-SIZED HISTORY VISIT 19TH CENTURY IRELAND!
Between 1845 and 1852, Ireland experienced one of the greatest humanitarian disasters in modern history, the Great Hunger. Commonly known as the Great Irish Famine, it was far more than a failed potato harvest. It became a catastrophe shaped by disease, poverty, political decisions, and the realities of life under British rule.
In this two-part series, we explore the Ireland that existed before the famine, why so many people depended on the potato, how potato blight devastated the country, and why the crisis escalated into mass starvation and suffering.
You'll probably think to yourself at a lot of points that colonialism really really sucked, well it did!
In this series, we'll visit Ireland before the famine, British colonial rule, the importance of the potato, the Government responses and why the famine became a humanitarian catastrophe, possibly even a genocide.

Join Joe and Zack as they unpack how the Americans turned away from their colonial oppressors (who really weren't demanding much), fought a seven-year war that it looked like they may lose at one point, and how George Washington and the other Patriots overcame the horrendous odds to launch the foundation of potentially the strongest and richest nation we may ever see.
Grab a pint and join us as we dive into the heroic tale of Washington and co. as they launch their revolution for independence.
