  • S05E14 The end of control
This is a fresher essay, written in late March, 2025, dated by a quick reference to the so-called “Signalgate” event.Internet wisdom says I should make sure to get this online as soon as possible after an event I’m referencing, but I don’t think that’s necessarily true in my case. I’m not trying to get views because I’m talking about the latest squirrel climbing the tree in the garden. This essay is actually about accountability, how some people are held accountable for their actions while others get off Scott free. How a lot of legislation is prohibitive and a lot of people get caught and punished for breaching those prohibitions while the ones making the prohibitions can gleefully ignore them. And maybe just a little bit of “Question Authority” tossed in to date myself.Links that I promise are as follows:Scriptand narration byrevel arrowayyou’re listening to radio revel podcast:Music:Theme: NFLD by Mr SmithIncidental: Black top by Mr Smithhttps://freemusicarchive.org/TranscriptionOn YouTube: On Substack#Signalgate, #accountability, #prohibitions, #questionauthority

  • S05E04a Con man?: When did she know?
Locked doors hide mysteries. Keyholes can reveal answers.I actually think this essay is about FBI discretion. I think that agents of that organization, with their target being a man, gleefully let a woman off the hook for more or less the same type of criminal behavior under her belt. The man was being investigated for possible relation to an air crash. The woman seemed to be the "victim" of that same man's scheme at insurance fraud.Based exclusively on FBI interviews with the woman, I present a slightly different picture, a backstory for the generally well-known tale of Flight 967. The tale of a woman who tries to shield herself behind the 1960s image of the good wife while generally throwing her husband under the wheels of the bus that she's riding on.Script and narration by revel arrowayMusic:Theme: "NFLD" by Mr SmithIncidental: "Black top" by Mr Smithhttps://freemusicarchive.org/Transcription Transcription Episode 04 Con man?: FBI The vault#planecrash, #Gulfofmexico, #bomb, #hijack, #FBI, #conman, #conartist, #naturopathy, #socialmedicine, #healthsystem, #herbs, #doctors, #bigpharma, #socialsecurity, #modernmedicine, #quacks, #snakeoil, #hypnotherapy, #medicalfraud, #moralhighground, #abortion, #insurancefraud, #RobertSpears,

  • S05E13 TrumpTalk
Here's an essay I wrote waaaay back in 2016, right after the blow to our collective reality represented by the election of a reality star as President of the United States. It basically deals with how making stuff up that incites fear and loathing and then repeating it over and again was going to be used (and ended up being used!) to manipulate people into becoming a base for evil actions.Links that I promise are as follows:Script and narration by revel arroway“you’re listening to radio revel” podcast:Music: Theme: NFLD by Mr SmithIncidental: Blacktop by Mr Smithhttps://freemusicarchive.org/TranscriptionOn YouTubeOn Substack#TrumpTalk, #accountability, #questionauthority, #regulations, #legislation, #8647

  • S05E03a Hangman: Scandal sells newspapers
This time around I talk about what I discovered in researching newspapers from the early XX Century, how "slant" or "angle" or just "let's make up a narrative" became more important that holding people accountable for their actions, almost getting an innocent man hung from a tree. • S05E12 They made me cry
In this episode in the Trailing edge of a generation series, I reminisce about hearing protest songs in my tender years and bring subtle attention to a singer-songwriter who I and some others think has taken up the mantle, though I’m not sure he’d consider himself as important as those who came before him. Times, they have changed and the youth are not all open to being challenged.Script and narration byrevel arroway“you’re listening to radio revel” podcast:Autobiographical playlist:Music:Theme: NFLD by Mr SmithIncidental: Black top by Mr Smithhttps://freemusicarchive.org/Transcription Episode 12On YouTube:On Substack

About you're listening to radio revel

Welcome back, my few and ever multiplying friends and listeners! Season Five of you're listening to radio revel is a new series called Keyhole witness. In this season I've looked for inspiration in mysterious, unsolved, sometimes conspiracy-ridden urban-myth-type events and made up stories about them, sometimes creating a world that explains the unexplained, sometimes revealing, thanks to my research, other slants or aspects of the story than that which is repeated again and again across the Internet. Please enjoy these fictional tidbits. Cheers, revel.
