It was late one night on December 26th 1900, when a telegram was received by the Northern Lighthouse Board. It was sent by a member of a rescue crew, dispatched to the Flannen isles, the site of the UKs most remote lighthouse, located way out in the Atlantic, beyond any sign of civilisation.
