    12. You Asked, We Answered: Child Support, Dating, Divorce & Hard Truths

    16/6/2025 | 48 mins.
    From our DMs to the Mic: in the last episode of the season, Charlotte & Fay answer answer listener questions about self-esteem, co-parenting, dating, CMS and friendships post-divorce.
    They emphasise the importance of community support and personal growth, while also addressing the challenges of parenting and maintaining connections with children. In this conversation, the hosts delve into the complexities of co-parenting, particularly in the context of emotional abuse and the challenges of navigating child support systems. They emphasise the importance of self-care and healing for parents, while also addressing the systemic issues that often leave single parents struggling financially.
    Questions answered;
    How to build up self esteem/confidence again after an affair/divorce?
    When to be intimate with a guy you’re dating?
    When to meet the kids
    Might be impossible - But how do deal with the fact that the dad isn’t interested but the children want to see him
    When I became a single mum I lost friends, did you? I’ve felt alone a lot lately
    How do you keep in touch with the kids when they’re at their others parents house?
    How do you navigate things like potty training while co-parenting esp with conflict
    How to say I’m done being nice please go fuck yourself you bastard in the nicest way possible
    How to tell ex husband about new boyfriend? I’m still married
    Ive had to apply for child maintenance due to my ex not seeing my son for the last 4 weeks - just received a letter saying I'll get £25 a week! I'm furious, he earns over 70k a year self employed but declares 12k, is there anything I can do?
    I'm in the process of separating from my emotionally abusive, narcissistic partner. He earns significantly more than I do, yet under our 50/50 custody arrangement, the child support he’s required to pay is minimal. Sometimes, I find myself wondering: Is it wrong or selfish to think maybe our child would be better off living primarily with his dad? I love my child deeply, but this system feels so broken. It’s like it’s built to ignore the invisible labour and emotional toll of parenting.
