  As tensions rise with Venezuela, President Trump said land operations could start "pretty soon." Sources tell CBS News the administration is also planning more tanker seizures. Disney announced Thursday that it would invest $1 billion in OpenAI and license more than 200 of its animated and illustrated characters to use in Sora's user-generated content. Jo Ling Kent has more. In a CBS News town hall, Erika Kirk, the widow of Charlie Kirk, talks about political violence in the U.S. and calls on parents to step up to their responsibilities, saying, "Do you want your kid to be a thought leader or an assassin? • Cuts to Consumer Watchdog Raise Alarming Safety Concerns | ‘Waiting to Exhale’ Cast Look Back

  The popular app Instacart charged customers different prices on the same items bought from the same stores, an investigation from Consumer Reports and progressive think tank Groundwork Collaborative found. Instacart responded, saying, "These tests are not dynamic pricing. Prices never change in real time," adding, "retailers have long tested prices in their physical stores," and saying that 10 retail partners do so in the app. Jo Ling Kent has more. Following the death of her daughter, a mother turned her grief into action to help make button batteries harder for kids to access - but the law that passed didn't apply to toys. She tried to get the Consumer Product Safety Commission to apply the standard to toys, but the effort stalled over the summer. The agency has lost key leadership and staff, and now two former CPSC commissioners are issuing warnings to consumers. The iconic movie "Waiting to Exhale," starring Angela Bassett, Whitney Houston, Loretta Devine and Lela Rochon premiered 30 years ago this month. The film, which had an all Black cast and focused on female empowerment, was a box office hit. A 73-year-old woman is on the run after allegedly posing as an heiress with a multimillion-dollar secret trust fund. Authorities say Mary Carole McDonnell scammed nearly $30 million from banks and is now on the FBI's most wanted list. A small plane collided with a car while trying to make an emergency landing on a highway in Brevard County, Florida. The FAA says the pilot reported engine issues moments before attempting to land on the freeway. The driver of the car had minor injuries and the pilot and passengers on the plane were not hurt. A U.K. couple started with a simple message, asking on Instagram if other parents could ban together to start a smartphone-free childhood. It's now grown to a global movement, with a chapter in 39 countries. Leigh Kiniry reports. Grammy-winning country music superstar Carly Pearce joins "CBS Mornings" to talk about her highly-anticipated fifth studio album, fans relating to the lyrics in her music and being vulnerable. Five-time Grammy Award winner Joe Bonamassa may already hold the record for the most No. 1 albums on the Billboard blues albums chart with 29, but he has no plans to stop anytime soon. His upcoming album is a tribute to B.B. King and includes tracks from artists like Aloe Blacc and Eric Clapton. "CBS Mornings" gets a behind-the-scenes look. The family of Michael Virgil is accusing the cruise giant of negligence. At one point on board, Virgil was tackled to the ground by security and given medication. He later died on the ship. Hollywood's awards season is underway with Golden Globe nominations announced on Monday. "One Battle After Another" was a financial flop at the box office, but it earned the most nominations.
