When our hearts are not in the right place, we will poison others with our speech. When God is not the center of our story and speech, we will lace our words with something that has death in it. When our speech, after years, is still focused on accusing others as the cause of our pain, this is as lethal as arsenic in the coffee. Both can be killers. Life and death are in the tongue. It’s just two different methods of dealing with pain and hurt. God, help us to keep our hearts clean.

In Genesis 45, Joseph’s words overflow with grace instead of bitterness, showing that a heart surrendered to God will always speak life. When His presence fills our hearts, our words reveal His work in us — even through pain, betrayal, and waiting.

Genesis 44 shows Judah’s transformation from self-interest to sacrificial love, proving that God completes His work in a person over time and it isn’t over until it’s over.

Genesis 43 illustrates how God tests our hearts through others’ blessings, showing the maturity and faithfulness required to rejoice when someone else receives favor.

Genesis 42 shows that God fulfills His promises in His timing, using Joseph’s position of power to bring reconciliation, provision, and perspective, even when events appear contrary to those involved.

Genesis 41 shows that God’s timing, patience, and integrity can elevate a faithful servant from years of suffering to unprecedented influence, as Joseph rises from prisoner to Pharaoh’s prime minister without compromising his character.
