Sibling Transitions: Preparing Your Kid for a New Baby | Ep. 158

    07/09/2026 | 40 mins.
No matter how much you prep them, the transition to a new sibling is going to be hard. You can absolutely make it easier, and I did a lot of things that I think really helped, but there's no such thing as an easy transition for a kid whose whole world just changed.

In this episode I'm walking through everything we did to prepare our older two for their baby brother, from how we talked about him during pregnancy all the way through what's been happening at home now that the newborn novelty has worn off and the reality of mom's attention being split three ways is setting in. I get into why we chose not to bring our kids to the hospital, what it looked like when they met him for the first time at home, and the one thing we say yes to almost every time because I think it's made a bigger difference than anything else.
In this episode, we dive into:
How to prep the kids before baby gets here
How to prep the kids for you being at the hospital
How to introduce them to the baby
How our transition is going now

    and more!
