  • EDP20 (ft special guest @RanToJapan / Jake Barraclough): Gold Coast marathon / Pre-Classic
Wow, absolutely massive episode as Dean, Eoin and Ryan are joined by @RanToJapan Jake Barraclough fresh off the back of Gold Coast marathon - dialling in from his hotel room on the afternoon of the race to talk about his experience and how it played out on course for him. Jake also reveals some details about his newly signed contract with a top shoe brand. It seems like the Ran To Japan Army took over both in Gold Coast itself and online during the live-streaming of the event. The Half-Marathon at Gold Coast saw some huge domestic battles between some of Australia's best in Andy Buchanan and Brett Robinson for the men and Leanne Pompeanni and Jess Stenson for the women.Eugene Diamond League/Pre-Classic was insanely successful with multiple world records falling amongst incredibly deep fields, we talk about 200m, 800m, 1500m, mile and 5000m.There was a fast 5000m in London for the British athletes and the European track season continues to throw up more random fast meets as Pete Bol and others from Australia run well over 800/1500m in France. Monaco confirm an insane field for the mens 800m in a few weeks where it looks like the WR will be surely tested.Kenya are upto madness in rearranging the dates of their trials at short notice and a supposed current pro athlete whistle blowing on the EPO usage over there.Dean hits another big week of training with plenty of double threshold and confirms some upcoming race plans. Eoin banks another solid week on his comeback as he recovers and builds on his 5mile race from last week and looks ahead to another race mid-week coming. Ryan provides another injury update as he implements a plan to finally get over the plantar issues and get back training. If you're enjoying the show give us a follow on instagram @easydoublepod, give us a 5* rating on here and/or drop us a message with your thoughts on anything that we're talking about :)

About Easy Double podcast

@easydoublepod is a running podcast hosted by Ryan, Dean and Eoin. We all come from very different backgrounds but have ended up as training partners in Perth, Australia. Generally we talk about running a bit too much, whether that be shoes, nutrition, training, performances, conspiracy theories or just poking fun at each other. Our long runs often take us down some rabbit holes and we thought it could be both insightful and humorous to explore some of these on a podcast. We try not to take ourselves too seriously, contrary to our approach to training. Welcome to the Easy Double Club.
