    03/07/2026 | 1h 16 mins.
10 years ago, Peter Greaves purchased a £200 Sony video camera and decided to have a go at YouTube content creation for a hobby. What started as a humble spare-time hobby filming his own cars and cars from a local car dealer has now become something extremely significant.

Peter's channel 'PetrolPed' has grown to almost 300,000 subscribers, which has enabled him to turn his hobby into a job and fly internationally to film with brands as prestigious as Ferrari.

This week, on The Driven Podcast, Peter joins John Marcar in the studio to share his story and journey and to reveal some of the more challenging parts of content creation.

    26/06/2026 | 1h 5 mins.
In this week's episode of The Driven Podcast, John Marcar visits Silverstone Museum to experience Black Cats & Chequered Flags – a groundbreaking mixed reality exhibition making its UK debut.

Blending virtual reality, interactive storytelling and authentic motorsport history, the experience puts visitors in the shoes of Ferrari legend Alberto Ascari, Formula One's first double World Champion. Recorded during the exhibition's launch event, John speaks with members of the project team as well as a very special guest from the world of F1...

    THE GUESTS:

    >> Rob Jaina is the Director of Curation and Learning at Silverstone Museum, and is also a journalist and motorsport commentator.

    >> Elisabetta Rotolo is the CEO and Founder of MIAT (Multiverse Institute for Arts and Technology), the company that created Black Cat and Chequered Flags.

    >> Phil Lawrie is the CEO of Silverstone Museum. He shares a fascinating insight into what it takes to run the museum and what it's like to be situated on the outskirts of arguably one of the world's most famous racing circuits during the F1 weekend.

    >> David 'CROFTY' Croft - As a special guest on the episode, we're joined by the Voice of Sky Sports F1 commentary and the host of The Sky Sports F1 Podcast, aka The F1 Show Podcast. Crofty graciously joined John on his birthday to host the presentation and launch the exhibition.
If you're a Formula One fan, a motorsport history enthusiast or simply curious about how technology is changing the way museums tell stories, this is an episode you won't want to miss.

Testing The JCB Hydromax with Tom Beamish and Wing Commander Andy Green OBE

    19/06/2026 | 59 mins.
20 years ago, JCB, a company renowned for producing agricultural and construction equipment, shocked the world when it unveiled Dieselmax - a land-speed record car that shot to both fame and speed on the Bonneville Salt Flats in the USA, achieving the diesel land speed record of 350.092mph. Now, in 2026, JCB is back at it, only this time, Lord Bamford and his engineers want to set the record with Hydrogen power.

The JCB Hydromax is the latest landspeed record car from JCB. Two 800hp hydrogen combustion engines power it, generating an overall power output of 1,600hp and a targeted top speed of over 350mph.

Tom Beimish is the man largely responsible for JCB's hydrogen technology and has been an integral part of the Hydromax program. John Marcar speaks with Tom to find out how and why hydrogen is the future for JCB rather than diesel, hybrid, or electric power.

Wing Commander Andy Green OBE is a former RAF fast-jet pilot who has spent the last 20+ years at the controls of fighter jets for the Royal Air Force. Now, he's stepping into the driver's seat of Hydromax to push the latest technology to the max and set a new world record.

John sits down with Tom and Andy to discover more about this exciting project at a shakedown test at RAF Wittering.
