Worship Leader Reviews "Send The Fire" by Jesus Culture | Ep 53

    22/07/2026 | 48 mins.
Jesus Culture's "Send The Fire" caused quite a stir online when it first came out. Mackenzie breaks down the song's lyrics, comparing and evaluating them in light of Scripture. Should we ask for 'fire' from God in our worship songs? Do we really need 'another Pentecost?'

Hi, I'm Mackenzie. I'm a music artist, worship leader, wife, mom (I wear a lot of hats), and host of the Godly Whistleblower podcast. I seek to shine a light on popular teachings and music in the church today and share what Scripture teaches on how we are to worship in spirit and in truth within the church gathering. My desire is to learn together with my listeners how Christians are to live lives ultimately as a pleasing worship to God.

The Feminization Of Worship Music | Ep 50

    01/07/2026 | 18 mins.
Why do so many modern worship songs today feel like a romantic love letter we would write to our boyfriend? When did this shift happen in history? How and why did worship music become so feminized? Mackenzie breaks down these questions and talks about how our worship music should be full of robust, theological lyrics and language of the truths in Scripture and why we should cringe and do away with overly emotional, pragmatic worship music that is so popular these days.

Why Are Many Women's Bible Studies So... Lame? | Ep 49

    24/06/2026 | 29 mins.
Women's bible studies get a bad rap - and rightfully so. A lot (not all) of the bible study material that's marketed to women in the church is so theologically weak, you could drink it black (if it were a cup of coffee.) Why are women not encouraged to dive deeper into theology and given anything of substance? Mackenzie breaks down why this problem exists today as well as her suggestions for solid bible study materials that can be helpful tools for studying Scripture.
