  • Turning Your Trauma Into Treasure – Ep 39 Helen Valentino
In this episode, Ildikó chats with Helen Valentino, the founder of Inspired Healing, who started her working life as an army nurse, before growing her first independent start- up to £4M turnover in 3 years. But Helen was also living with trauma: her father sexually abused her and, despite having suspicions, her mother ignored the situation. Helen went on a personal healing journey that took her through her own trauma and self-sabotage, from cutting, bulimia and alcoholism, to forgiveness and a place where she found peace and the ability to love herself just as she was. Today, through Inspired Healing, using modalities she has learned along the way, including Shamanism, plant medicines, sound healing, Bach Flowers and more, she helps others to do the same. KEY TAKEAWAYS 1. Trauma Can Be Turned Into Treasure: Surviving and fully addressing trauma teaches us resilience. It ultimately empowers you. 2. Embrace Authentic Self-Acceptance and Forgiveness: True healing begins when you compassionately accept yourself, acknowledge imperfections, and wholeheartedly forgive both yourself and others. It creates space for growth. 3. Learn to Work With Your Differences: Helen’s experience with ADHD illustrates that accepting neurodiversity, building support systems, and trusting your intuition can turn obstacles into assets in life and business. 4. Let Go Of Bitterness and Anger : When you hold on to resentment, anger and bitterness you are actually damaging yourself. 5. Value Your Accumulated Wisdom: Look at what you have learned as collective wisdom. You can pass it on and use it to help others, whether you acquired it from books, teachers, courses, travel or life experiences. BEST MOMENTS Helen: Trauma can be a real challenge… I have a beautiful friend that says she turned her trauma into treasure. Ildikó: The need for survival is so incredibly strong and I always find it astonishing. Helen: When you’ve truly forgiven, you know because it stops popping into your head — there’s no more reaction in your body. Helen: Sometimes we’re so busy trying to get out of our pain that we forget to go through it. Helen: The universe is conspiring to help us be our best selves, but sometimes we think life is against us, and I know that's not true GUEST INFORMATION https://www.inspiredhealing.co.uk Cacao remote healing session - https://www.inspiredhealing.co.uk/events/sacred- cacao-ceremony-on-zoom-ezxty-xnnba-kjeky-cnf6l-6dpfk-fk9yw-zpc3b-384sk www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61551922200224 https://www.linkedin.com/in/helen-valentino-04a7714 EPISODE RESOURCES https://www.amazon.co.uk/Women-Who-Love-Too-Much/dp/0099474123https://www.amazon.co.uk/Scattered-Minds-Origins-Attention-Disorder/dp/B0C8PSNV1Rhttps://www.amazon.co.uk/Course-Miracles-Workbook-Students-Teachers/dp/0670869759  ADHD UK Benefits - https://www.adhdadult.uk/adhd-and-benefits HOST BIO Ildikó Sealey is a Property Professional, Networking Host and Podcast Host serving her local and wider community.
