97: The despair is broken, love’s dreams made true

    07/04/2026 | 29 mins.
Episode 97: Christopher shares how he decided to become a Christian and then a Catholic as a teenager. He is a published poet and explains how his work is inspired by his faith and by the beautiful North Devon countryside. We talk about the ‘awkward’ experience of belonging to a thinly-spread Catholic community in a rural area where the opportunity for daily Mass is absent. But, in tune with the season of Eastertide, Christopher says that in his poetry he intends to ‘always give a sense that we're not beyond hope. I do not despair.’  To illustrate this, he goes on to read one of his beautiful sonnets, ‘Earth in Easter.’

96: Holy Week Witness. Carrying the cross together to Walsingham

    31/03/2026 | 29 mins.
Episode 96: Mollie and Christina share their experiences of Pilgrim Cross. Mollie joined this pilgrimage for the first time last year, arriving in Walsingham on Good Friday, joining Christian pilgrims from many parts of the country, to celebrate Easter. Christina explains the origins of this pilgrimage which began in France in 1946, when 30,000 people gathered, carrying wooden crosses, as an act of prayer, reparation and reconciliation after the Second World War. Both guests explain how important the Pilgrim Cross pilgrimage is as an expression of their faith. Mollie says, ‘I can't fathom an Easter not spent on pilgrimage... with other people, serving the Lord, loving life to the full.’

95: I went in with a plan but Lent this year has called me out

    24/03/2026 | 36 mins.
Episode 95 This week’s episode was originally recorded live with an audience at our very first in-person event. Helena shares how she grew up, with Polish heritage in America, married a British man and moved to England with a young family. The world of theatre and particularly drama ministry is huge in Helena’s life. She describes ‘a pivotal moment’ when the Holy Spirit was at work, leading her to bring together young people with and without disabilities in a robot-themed dance performance. Currently working with Radio Maria England, Helena explains other ways in which God has undone her plans, sometimes painfully. She feels He is telling her, ‘You cannot decide everything. You've got to let some of it be mine.’

94: Work and Prayer: Brewing beer alongside the monks of Mount St Bernard Abbey

    17/03/2026 | 34 mins.
Episode 94 Peter shares his journey, via the Royal Navy and tax accounting, to running the brewery alongside Trappist monks and managing the abbey estate. He explains how he has adapted to working with the rhythm of monastic life, describing the monks as having a ‘more eternal concept of time’ than he was previously used to, especially at work. It’s fascinating to hear how commercial concerns and a life of prayer are balanced by the monastic community and Peter himself - and the opportunity for ‘soft evangelisation’ that brewing beer offers them.

93: Why not say that we are a church family?

    10/03/2026 | 23 mins.
Episode 93: Bringing insights from Seventh-day Adventist childhood experiences, Hannah wants Catholic parishes to engage their young people more fully. She is making the effort herself, alongside prayer, to do just that. Hear how Hannah works at balancing personal faith and professional ethics too. She shares practical tools that help her to keep faith alive for herself and others between Sundays: youth testimonies, Justice & Peace, Christian radio, prayer partners, and the rosary.
