    Breast Cancer and Myths

    31/07/2026 | 41 mins.
Getting the right advice and treatment are hugely important in your breast cancer journey. What doesn’t help are myths and disinformation - and there’s plenty of both out there. Here’s the advice from Future Dreams : “Don’t take anything without checking with your clinical team as everyone’s breast cancer diagnosis and prescribed medication is individual. They will be able to tell you if any treatments you are curious about are unfounded or how they will interact with your treatment”

In this episode, Victoria talks to journalist Jacquie Beltrao from Sky Sports and Dr Liz O’Riordan who has written a book on this very subject.

Brought to you by the Future Dreams charity, "And Then Came Breast Cancer" is for everyone whose lives have been touched by the disease. Breast Cancer and Older Women

    19/06/2026 | 28 mins.
The NHS say that one in 3 women who get breast cancer is over 70. That may be logical - the longer you live the greater your chances of getting the disease. But while the average life expectancy for women is 83, after the age of 71 you no longer automatically get invited for a mammogram.

In this episode, Victoria talks to Baroness Margaret Hodge, who was diagnosed herself at the age of 80...she talks about her own experience and how she wants a better deal for older women.

    Breast Cancer and Milestones

    05/06/2026 | 38 mins.
You’ll often hear the “taking one day at a time” mantra about not getting ahead of yourself, especially when you are in recovery.

For some people, ticking off the firsts - first time back at work, first holiday, first family occasion - helps put distance between them and breast cancer. Is chalking off these milestones a good thing?

In this episode, Victoria talks to Fran and Kimmy about the hurdles they’ve put behind them on their post-cancer journey…
