    02/2/2026 | 1h 14 mins.
Eddie Doris is a retired primary school teacher and musician, from Cookstown, Co Tyrone, who is living with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). Diagnosed in his 20s, and now in his mid 50s, Eddie shares what it means to navigate a progressive neurological condition while holding onto identity, purpose, and connection.

Eddie talks about losing his ability to play music, retiring from a teaching career, the impact of mobility changes, and why he doesn’t see himself as someone who is “suffering.”

He reflects on the importance of mindset, community, humour, and staying socially connected, and how life doesn’t stop after a diagnosis, it adapts.

This episode is for anyone living with MS, chronic illness, disability, or a life changing diagnosis, and for anyone who needs a reminder that everyone is carrying something.

E171: Surviving Domestic Abuse: Dr Julie-Ann Walkden’s Story & The Lifesaving Work of Women’s Aid

    25/11/2025 | 1h 8 mins.
Dr Julie-Ann Walkden courageously shares her domestic abuse survivor story for the very first time in this special episode.

Julie-Ann recounts the night her partner violently attacked her, the red flags she missed, how coercive control escalated, and the impact the trauma had on her and her children. Her honest conversation shines a vital light on how abuse happens behind closed doors, even in families who seem “normal” from the outside.

Noelle Collins, Project Manager at Women’s Aid, explains how domestic violence develops, why women often cannot “just leave,” how refuge support works, and the essential role charities play in keeping women and children safe in Northern Ireland.

This special episode is produced in partnership with Digg Deep for Kids, a charity founded by Caroline that provides emergency essentials, Christmas support, and year-round help to organisations including Women’s Aid NI, Cash for Kids, Simon Community and Little Heroes NI.
