Stephen McCammon is the Managing Director and owner of Menarys, the historic Northern Ireland based family department store chain with a story that goes back over 103 years.

Stephen shares the story behind Menarys, from its beginnings in Dungannon in 1923 to becoming one of Northern Ireland’s most recognised family retail businesses, now with 25 stores in 2026.

He talks about the ring that reminds him where it all began, growing up during the Troubles, surviving bomb damage, the credit crunch, Covid, and the collapse of Arcadia.

Stephen also opens up about leadership, succession, rebuilding after setbacks, and why Menarys still believes in the high street, community, and the people on the shop floor.
