- 🎙️ EP 335 Your Child is Learning How to Fail From You!
(The Legacy Conversations Bonus Series with Ildiko Ferenczi)
ENTREPRENEUR PARENTS PODCAST
Hosted by Dan Caldwell and Ildiko Ferenczi
What do our children learn when life doesn't go the way we planned? Not from our victories alone but from the way we respond when we face disappointment, rejection, mistakes, and failure.
In this deeply personal episode of Becoming Unshakable, Ildiko Ferenczi explores one of the most powerful lessons parents unintentionally teach every day. Through the story of a father who hides a painful rejection from his daughter, she reveals how children often learn far more from watching our reactions than from listening to our advice. When we hide our failures, they may learn to hide theirs. But when we choose honesty, humility, and resilience, we teach them that setbacks are not the end of the story.
This conversation is a reminder that failure is never our identity. It may expose areas where we need to grow, seek wisdom, or make changes, but it never has the authority to define our worth. Our children don't need parents who win every battle they need parents who show them how to rise again.
🌿IN THIS EPISODE, WE TALK ABOUT:
What children may learn when they watch their parents hide disappointment
Why our behavior during failure often teaches more than our words about perseverance
The difference between acknowledging pain and allowing pain to become an identity
Why "This attempt failed" creates a healthier mindset than "I am a failure"
How accountability can remain specific without becoming self-condemnation
Why asking for help is an act of courage not evidence of weakness
How to model age appropriate honesty without placing adult burdens on children
The questions that can transform setbacks into opportunities for growth
What entrepreneurial families can teach children about risk, rejection, resilience, and beginning again
Why biblical faithfulness does not mean never falling
How prayer, repentance, wisdom, community, and correction help us rise again
🌿FAILURE DOES NOT HAVE TO BECOME AN IDENTITY
There is a profound difference between saying, "I failed," and saying, "This attempt failed." One becomes a judgment about who we are. The other simply tells the truth about an event.
This episode explores why language matters both the words we speak over ourselves and the words our children hear. Accountability is important, but healthy accountability identifies behaviors that can change rather than condemning the person. When we say, "I didn't prepare enough," we discover a next step. When we say, "I'm a failure," we close the door on growth.
Our children need to learn that they can tell the truth about mistakes without allowing those mistakes to define them. They can admit when they need help, learn from what happened, and have the courage to try again. Those lessons become believable when they first see us living them.
✝️SCRIPTURE FROM THIS EPISODE
"Though the just fall seven times, they rise again, but the wicked stumble from only one mishap."
— Proverbs 24:16 (NABRE)
Scripture never teaches that faithful people never fall. Instead, it reminds us that they rise again. Sometimes we rise because God strengthens us. Sometimes through repentance. Sometimes through correction, wise counsel, community, or the humility to ask for help.
We cannot promise our children that life will always go according to plan. But we can teach them that when they fall, they never have to remain hidden in shame. They can tell the truth, receive God's grace, seek help, and take the next faithful step.
📓JOURNAL MOMENT
Spend a few quiet moments reflecting on these questions:
What have my children heard me say about myself when something didn't work?
Do I tend to hide failure, blame others, or allow one setback to define me?
What emotional meaning did failure carry in the home where I grew up?
Am I unintentionally passing that meaning on to my children?
Can my children bring me disappointing news without fearing they'll lose my love or approval?
Do I focus more on performance or on what setbacks can teach us?
Where do I need to take honest responsibility without falling into shame?
How can I share age-appropriate disappointments without asking my children to carry adult burdens?
What setback have I allowed to become part of my identity?
What would "rising again" look like in my very next faithful step?
🌿FINAL ENCOURAGEMENT
Perhaps there is an email you've been avoiding. A result you've quietly hidden. A decision you wish you could make differently.
A dream that didn't unfold the way you hoped. You don't have to pretend it didn't hurt. You don't have to call something successful when it wasn't. You don't have to rush past disappointment before you've honestly acknowledged it.
But you also don't have to let one painful outcome become the verdict over your life. Take responsibility for what belongs to you. Ask God for wisdom. Then choose what rising again looks like from here. Your children don't need a parent who appears undefeated. They need a parent who shows them that disappointment doesn't have the final word. By the grace of God, we can tell the truth, learn the lesson, take the next faithful step and rise again.

Contact@PrettyandPunk.com - 🎙️ EP 334 The Person in Front of You Is Part of the Dream!
(Solo episode w/ Ildiko Ferenczi) FIVE MINUTES THAT COULD CHANGE YOUR DAY — EPISODE TWO
ENTREPRENEUR PARENTS PODCAST
Hosted by Dan Caldwell and Ildiko Ferenczi
What if the person you say you're building everything for is standing right in front of you quietly waiting for you to look up?
In this short episode of Five Minutes That Could Change Your Day, Ildiko Ferenczi explores the tension between ambition and presence. As parents and entrepreneurs, we often work hard because we want to create more freedom, security, and opportunity for our families. But sometimes, without realizing it, we can become so focused on building a better future for them that we miss the people already beside us today.
This isn't about feeling guilty for working hard or abandoning the dream. It's a reminder that your spouse and children aren't interruptions standing between you and your purpose. They are part of the reason the dream matters.
🌱 In This Episode, You'll Discover
* How good intentions can quietly turn into emotional absence
* The difference between being near someone and truly being present
* How work, phones, and mental pressure can affect family connection
* Why small moments of undivided attention matter
* How to pursue ambition without allowing it to outrank the people you love
💭 A Question to Carry With You
Who has been trying to reach you lately?
Not your audience. Not your customers. Not the people waiting for an answer.
Who inside your home has been trying to reach you?
Before today is over, look into their eyes. Let them finish the story. Ask one more question. Stay a little longer than you normally would.
🌿 Final Encouragement
Your ambition is not the enemy of your family but it must know where it belongs.
Keep building. Keep pursuing the calling God placed on your life. But don't become so busy creating a life your family can enjoy someday that you miss the life they're asking you to share with them today.
The person in front of you is not standing between you and the dream. They are part of the dream.
Sometimes five intentional minutes can change the way we walk into the rest of our day.

Contact@PrettyandPunk.com - 🎙️ EP 333 You Are Still Allowed to Begin, Rediscovering Your Purpose After Motherhood!
(Solo episode with Ildiko Ferenczi)
ENTREPRENEUR PARENTS PODCAST
Hosted by Dan Caldwell and Ildiko Ferenczi
Motherhood changes many things, but it doesn't erase the gifts, dreams, or calling God placed inside you. In this heartfelt solo episode, Ildiko Ferenczi speaks to every mother who has spent years pouring into her family while quietly wondering if there's still room for her own voice, creativity, business idea, or God-given purpose.
Whether you've been carrying a dream for months or for many years, this episode is an invitation to stop waiting until you feel completely ready. Ildiko shares why small beginnings matter, how to move past fear and guilt, and why pursuing your calling doesn't take away from your family—it can become one of the greatest examples of courage your children will ever witness.
Because sometimes the first step isn't building the entire dream. It's simply deciding to stop hiding the first piece.
🌱 In This Episode, You'll Discover
How to rediscover your purpose after becoming a mother
Why it's never too late to begin again
How to overcome the fear of sharing your work with the world
Why pursuing your calling isn't selfish
What to do when friends or family don't support your dream
How small, imperfect steps build lasting confidence
Why your children learn courage by watching yours
📖 A Biblical Reminder
God doesn't ask us to have the entire path figured out before we begin. Throughout Scripture, He calls ordinary people to take faithful steps of obedience, trusting Him with what comes next. Often, our calling unfolds one step at a time, not all at once.
💬 Journal & Reflection
Take a few quiet moments to reflect:
What dream or idea have I continued to carry, even through the busiest seasons of motherhood?
What fear keeps speaking louder than my faith?
What is one small step I can take this week?
What will my children learn by watching me honor the gifts God has given me?
❤️ Final Encouragement
If you've been waiting for permission to begin again, let this be your reminder:
You don't need a perfect plan, a polished brand, or complete confidence before taking your first step. Sometimes courage looks like a tired mom propping her phone against a coffee cup and deciding that what God placed inside her is worth sharing.
Your beginning may feel small, but small beginnings are often where God does His greatest work.
Your children don't need to see a fearless mother. They need to see a faithful one, someone willing to trust God enough to take the next step, even before she knows exactly where the path will lead.
So begin where you are. Use what you have. Trust God with the rest.
Because motherhood didn't erase your identity.
Sacrifice didn't cancel your calling.
You are still allowed to begin.

Contact@PrettyandPunk.com - 🎙️EP 332 You Do Not Have to Change Your Whole Life Today! - A new five-minute conversation (1)
(Solo episode w/ Ildiko Ferenczi)
ENTREPRENEUR PARENTS PODCAST
Hosted by Dan Caldwell and Ildiko Ferenczi
You are not overwhelmed because you are incapable.
You may be overwhelmed because you are trying to carry your whole future today your marriage, your business, your finances, your children, your healing, the calling you've been putting off, and the person you're still trying to become. When everything feels important, it can seem impossible to know where to begin.
But what if God is not asking you to repair, rebuild, or understand your entire life today? What if He is simply asking you to be faithful with the next thing already in front of you?
Welcome to the very first episode of Five Minutes That Could Change Your Day, a new daily conversation from the Entrepreneur Parents Podcast, created to meet you wherever the day finds you.
These five minutes are for the parent standing in the kitchen wondering how one person can carry so much. They are for the husband or wife who knows a conversation needs to happen but doesn't know how to begin, for the dreamer staring at the distance between where they are and where they hoped they would be, and for the person who loves God but still feels tired, uncertain, discouraged, or afraid.
Sometimes we believe our lives must change all at once before anything meaningful can happen. But lasting transformation often begins with something almost invisible: putting down the phone when your child asks you to watch, returning to finish the conversation instead of walking away when love becomes difficult, opening your Bible again, offering the apology without adding an excuse, writing the first page, sending the email, pressing record before you feel ready, getting out of bed, and deciding to try again.
These choices may seem small, but small does not mean insignificant. One faithful decision may not repair everything overnight, but it can begin changing the direction in which everything is moving.
In this episode, Ildikó reminds us that we were never meant to carry tomorrow using today's strength. God gives us daily bread—grace for this day, wisdom for this decision, courage for this conversation, and enough light to take the next step.
You do not need to know how the entire story will unfold.
You only need to stop abandoning the next right thing.
🎧 In This Five-Minute Conversation
We discuss:
Why trying to change everything at once often keeps us from changing anything.
How the distance between where we are and where we hoped to be creates discouragement.
Why meaningful change usually begins in quiet, ordinary moments.
What Jesus' teaching about daily bread reveals about the way God provides strength.
How to stop borrowing tomorrow's worries before tomorrow arrives.
The power of identifying and taking one faithful next step.
Why slow healing does not mean you are failing.
How one small decision can begin changing the future of your family, marriage, calling, and life.
❓ Today's Question
What is the next right thing you already know you need to do?
Not the biggest thing.
Not the most impressive thing.
Not everything.
Just the next faithful thing.
Maybe it is offering an apology. Maybe it is keeping a promise you made to yourself. Maybe it is sitting beside your spouse instead of allowing another evening to disappear into silence. Maybe it is turning toward your child when they say, "Watch me." Maybe it is opening the document, making the call, asking for help, telling the truth, or beginning again.
Or perhaps it is simply praying:
"God, I do not know how to fix all of this. But I am willing to take the next step with You."
📖 Scripture to Carry With You
"Give us this day our daily bread."
Matthew 6:11
God does not ask you to possess today all the strength you will need for the rest of your life.
He meets you daily. Grace for today. Wisdom for today. Courage for today.
Enough light for the step that is in front of you now.
🌿 Final Encouragement
You are not behind because you cannot finish in one day what may take an entire season to build. You are not failing because your healing is taking longer than you hoped. You are not weak because you need help carrying what was never meant to be carried alone. And you are not disqualified because yesterday did not look the way you wanted it to.
You do not have to change your whole life today. You only have to become faithful with the moment that is in your hands.
One conversation. One apology. One boundary. One prayer. One act of courage. One decision to stay present. One choice to begin again.
That one decision may not change everything immediately, but it may change the direction in which everything is moving.
One day, your future family, your future marriage, your future calling, and your future self may look back with gratitude that today, when you could not do everything, you chose not to do nothing.
Maybe these five minutes did not change your entire life.
But perhaps they changed the way you will walk into the rest of today.
I'll meet you right back here tomorrow.

Contact@PrettyandPunk.com - 🎙️EP 331: We Built the Dream, But Did We Protect Us?
BECOMING UNSHAKABLE: THE LEGACY CONVERSATIONS BONUS SERIES
ENTREPRENEUR PARENTS PODCAST
Hosted by Dan Caldwell and Ildikó Ferenczi
There Is Something Extraordinary About Building a Dream Together
There is something extraordinary about building a dream with the person you love. You remember when the vision was still small enough to fit inside a late-night conversation. You carried the uncertainty together. You survived the disappointments nobody else witnessed. And when the first meaningful breakthrough finally came, your spouse understood exactly what it meant because they knew what it had cost.
But when husband and wife also become business partners, parents, leaders, decision-makers, creators, and public figures, the marriage can begin carrying so many responsibilities that the relationship itself becomes difficult to find.
You may still love one another deeply. You may still be fully committed. You may talk all day, solve problems together, raise children together, and build something meaningful together. But when was the last time you connected without coordinating something? When was the last time you sat across from one another without discussing the children, the calendar, the company, the next opportunity, or the problem that still needed to be solved?
In Episode 331 of Becoming Unshakable, Ildikó Ferenczi continues the conversation about success, stewardship, marriage, and family this time exploring the unique reality of couples who are building publicly and privately at the same time.
This is an honest conversation about what happens when every discussion begins to feel like a meeting, when both people are exhausted, when temporary sacrifices quietly become permanent expectations, and when the image of a successful marriage begins receiving more protection than the marriage itself.
Coordination keeps a life functioning.
Connection allows the people inside that life to feel known.
🧠 In This Episode, We Explore
The beauty and privilege of building something meaningful with your spouse
How entrepreneurship can quietly enter every part of a marriage
The difference between being beside one another and truly being with one another
Why talking all day does not necessarily mean you are emotionally connected
What happens when spouses begin seeing each other primarily through the roles they perform
Why no one wants to be loved only for how useful they are
How exhaustion can make ordinary questions sound like criticism
The deeper needs that may be hiding beneath recurring arguments
How unequal seasons can still remain loving and honorable
What happens when temporary sacrifices become permanent family structures
Why both spouses need to know their gifts and callings still matter
The emotional pressure public couples may experience when their marriage becomes part of the brand
Why every public couple needs a private marriage
What entrepreneurial children are learning by watching their parents build
How to begin finding one another again without waiting for a perfect retreat or an easier season
❤️ When the Seasons Are Unequal
This episode also speaks honestly about the seasons when building cannot look equal. Pregnancy may change the rhythm. A new baby may require one parent to step back. Illness, grief, financial pressure, caregiving, or an unexpected opportunity may require one spouse to carry more for a season.
Sometimes love says, "This is your season. I will help you carry it."
But eventually, love may also need to turn around and say, "You have carried mine for a long time. Let us make room for yours."
Sacrifice carries dignity when it is chosen, seen, honored, and revisited. It becomes painful when it is expected, unacknowledged, and indefinite.
This conversation is not asking entrepreneurial couples to stop building. It is asking them to protect the relationship that makes building together meaningful.
Because the company may change. The launch will eventually end. The audience may move on. The season of intense building will not last forever.
And when the noise becomes quiet, there should still be a husband and wife who know how to sit across from one another without needing an agenda.
🎚️Scripture From This Episode
Mark 10:9
"Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate."
We often imagine separation only as something dramatic. But distance can begin quietly. Pressure can separate. Pride can separate. Unspoken resentment can separate. Even meaningful work can occupy so much emotional space that two people who deeply love one another slowly stop reaching each other.
No calling from God requires us to become careless with the covenant He has also entrusted to us.
Marriage is not an inconvenience standing between you and your purpose.
It is part of the stewardship.
📖 Journal Moment
Take these questions somewhere quiet—perhaps with your spouse.
Have we become better at coordinating our life than connecting inside it?
Have we been talking all day but stopped sharing what is happening inside our hearts?
Do we still see the person beneath every role and responsibility?
Does each of us believe our calling still has room inside this family?
Have any temporary sacrifices quietly become permanent expectations?
Do we honor what each person has laid down to support this season?
Is there still a part of our marriage that belongs only to us?
When was the last time we spent time together without discussing the business?
What might our children be learning from the way success affects our marriage?
What small change could help us feel like husband and wife again—not only parents and business partners?
😊 Final Encouragement
My friend, there is something extraordinary about realizing that the person you love is also the person carrying the dream beside you. They understand the risk, the pressure, and the private cost. They saw the vision before anyone applauded it. They witnessed the dream when it was beautiful—and when it was exhausting.
Honor that. But do not allow shared work to become the only place where you meet.
The company needs your ideas. The audience may need your voice. The children need your leadership. But your spouse also needs the part of you that is not performing a role the part that listens, laughs, notices, reaches, and can simply be present without needing to produce, manage, or solve anything.
There will always be another email, another opportunity, another decision, and another problem that feels urgent. But some of the most important moments in a marriage never announce their significance while they are happening.
A look across the table. A hand held in the car. A late-night conversation without an agenda.
A child watching Mom and Dad laugh again.
Those moments may never appear in the story the world tells about your success, but they are part of the life you are actually building. Protect them.
Because you did not only choose one another as business partners. You chose one another as home. Build the company. Carry the calling. Lead together. But keep finding your way back to husband and wife.
Because the greatest thing you build together should never cost you the "us" that built it.
