  • EPISODE 12 | DJ Fat Tony | Abuse, addiction and self-destruction to recovery and redemption.
From a council estate in Battersea to DJ’ing for A-list celebrities and royalty, today’s guest is not short of jaw dropping stories of his eclectic life. Grateful to still be alive after 28 years of addiction, DJ Fat Tony shares all in his powerful, hilarious and eye-opening Sunday Times best selling memoir, ‘I don’t take requests’. From his first steps into Heaven nightclub at 16, his whole life changed, music “has the ability to take you wherever you want it to take you,” it really is ,“the best drug in the world”. So how did Fat Tony become the iconic British DJ that we know today? From losing his childhood innocence when a youth worker groomed and sexually abused him, “because I didn’t talk about out it, I thought I had dealt with it”, to later recognising that talking about trauma allows you to process it and “that deals with it”. From going through life believing his dad hated him because of his experiences in childhood, it took a court case, an ankle tag and sobriety on both parts to talk, listen and find peace. The biggest realisation being, that love for him was there all along. From being open about his sexuality from a young age and socialising in iconic circles to experiencing a “pitchfork and torch” scenario when the aids pandemic took hold, causing 85% of his peers to tragically pass and his mental health to spiral. From chaotic, drug fuelled behaviour being glorified and allowed because “I was making people money,” but when he started looking forward to the idea of dying an unexpected tap on the shoulder and a familiar face asking “what happened to you,” was a moment that would save his life. DJ Fat Tony’s story is one of overcoming the odds whilst still being unapologetically himself. At 57, he is forward focused and excited about all the possibilities ahead of him powerfully sharing, “there is life after addiction”. Listen to this episode if: you have struggled with addiction or considering sobriety. you have a difficult relationship with a parent. your way of coping is to bury it and not speak about things. you are a performance type artist that experiences anxiety or nerves. • EPISODE 11 | Dr Aseem Malhotra | “it’s not safe to speak the truth, but it’s even less safe not to”
When public figures share an unpopular opinion, in recent years, it has become increasingly known to result in media smear campaigns and a culture of cancelling the person from the spotlight. On the other hand, what if this ‘unpopular opinion’ is in fact evidence based medical research written by Dr Aseem. A top British Cardiologist and published researcher in the British Medical Journal whose life’s work has been dedicated to giving back to society and helping people through medicine within the NHS. From a top cardiologist with outstanding patient care to travelling the world sharing his message of “how can we make medicine great again”, how did Dr Aseem get to this point? From investigating the issue of sugar and finding current EU guidelines to be detrimental to health, to facing major pushbacks after calling out an industry “that were profiting from lying to people”. From publishing research on the overuse of Statins, advocating for lifestyle changes and eating real food to receiving a letter stating, “we have decided to cut your fellowship short”. From falling victim to a slander campaign written in the Mail on Sunday when the UK health minister’s words were used out of context. Then being ‘cancelled’ from his job by text saying, “your services are no longer required”, Dr Aseem continues advocating for ethical evidence based medical practice. From appearing on Good Morning Britain assuring viewers “traditional vaccines are the safest”, to seeing the evidence and alarming links between MRNA vaccines and heart disease, as well as first hand in his father’s passing, he now passionately advocates for laws to be changed. With cancel culture and smear campaigns increasing in frequency and fear of backlash if you do speak out, a final note from Dr Aseem, “it’s not always safe to speak the truth but it’s even less safe to not speak the truth”. Listen to this episode if: you wonder why people are getting sicker despite modern medicine. you value the NHS and it’s longevity. you are ‘for’ speaking the truth despite possible pushbacks. you’re an ordinary person wanting to lead a long healthy life. Imagine being 30 weeks pregnant, excited to start the family you have always dreamed of and then one day the glossy vale falls away and reality confronts you, “OMG, why did I think my life was so amazing?”. From broke to self-made multi-millionaire in 2 years, nothing makes you move faster than when you are in pain.  Emma Cooper is a mum, wife, sister, property investor, AirBnb business owner and creator of the Pro-Planner. From scraping through school and having no confidence until she was 30 but “I don’t really know why?”, to becoming more self aware when she was diagnosed as an adult with ADHD. From learning valuable lessons as a police officer such as, “you can’t reason with unreasonable people”, to a pivotal moment thinking, ‘that could have been me’, when two female colleagues were shot and killed in her area. From humble upbringings and naivety around money, believing £5000 a month was “mega rich”, to shifting her money mindset and earning £100,000 a month through Network Marketing. From losing her business partner, best friend and sister to cancer aged 42 she shares,“when grief hits you, it changes everything”.  “Life is too short” to be waiting for the ‘right time’. Emma’s story demonstrates the possibility of the modern day, where ordinary people can create extraordinary wealth in years rather than decades. We hope you are INSPIRED.
