John Paul DeJoria is an entrepreneur and philanthropist with a net worth of roughly $3 billion, best known as co-founder of John Paul Mitchell Systems and Patrón Spirits Company. He started Paul Mitchell in 1980 with a $700 loan while living out of his car and selling shampoo door-to-door. That company now generates over $900 million in annual revenue with products sold in more than 80 countries. In 1989 he co-founded Patrón Tequila, which grew into one of the world's top-selling ultra-premium tequilas before Bacardi acquired it in 2018 for $5.1 billion, one of the largest spirits deals in history. His journey from homeless to billionaire made him one of the most respected voices on entrepreneurship and resilience, and he's pledged to give away the majority of his wealth through JP's Peace Love and Happiness Foundation.
