It’s Openinsgsweekend so it stands to reason that we’re team talking about doping in shinty and ballroom dancing. Talk does eventually turn to both Omloopen Het Nieuwsblad on Saturday and Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne, plus more world records on the track, the return of a famous sponsor to cycling and a possible return to the UK for the Tour de France in 2027.Recommendations/LinksThe Mountain Races - https://www.themountainraces.cc/Ride of Silence http://www.rideofsilence.org/main.phpAeropress Flow Control Filter https://aeropress.com/products/aeropress-flow-control-filter-capStill Game - https://www.netflix.com/gb/title/80073432?s=i&trkid=0&vlang=enPeter Sagan can really move! https://youtube.com/shorts/IJaPhMcL7AQ?si=Us-YVYStDxsfGoiKPhoto: Andy Hampsten in pink and much better weather, taking a musette from another Cycling Legends guest, Shelley Verses on his way to his historic 1988 Giro d’Italia win. • From the Archives: Shelley Verses
In the 1980s, men's pro cycling was a closed-door to women, unless you were a podium girl, of course. In 1985, a 25 year-old from Connecticut changed all that.Chris Sidwell chats to pro cycling's first female soigneur, Shelley Verses. In this hour-long interview from 2023 Shelley, who worked with 7-Eleven, La Vie Claire, Toshiba, TVM and Saturn, talks about learning the ropes and becoming accepted in the macho world of the men's peloton and supporting some of the best riders in the world.Photo: Offside/L’EquipeGet in touchDrop us a line at [email protected]! Does Alison Jackson listen to the Feed Zone? Probably not, but that doesn’t stop Gary from claiming his musical influence on the Paris-Roubaix Femmes winner.in the real world, it’s Bartali goes to Hollywood as a forthcoming biopic of the Giro and Tour legend is announced, the guys discuss yet more changes on cycling’s small screen plus the European track championships and even make some rash predictions ahead of Het Nieuwsblad/Het Volk/Het Woke*.
