Managing the perimenopause and menopause within primary care
23/10/2025 | 39 mins.
In the UK, the usual age range for the menopause is 45 to 55, but about 1% of women will go through this transition before the age of 40. Series four of the Transforming Primary Care podcast continues with a World Menopause Day discussion chaired by consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist Dr Eddie Morris. Eddie, who is former chairman of the British Menopause Society and currently a regional medical director in the East of England, is joined by a panel of GPs and other healthcare professionals for an exploration of how the development of women’s health hubs and innovative new group consultation models are helping reduce gynaecology waiting lists in the North East and Yorkshire region, impacting positively on women’s lives. The conversation also covers how this important area of work fits into the prevention and hospital to community shifts of the 10-year health plan.
